What Not To Do
When You Elope - by Wil
Here's Wil's list of what not to do when you elope:
1. Don't put your freshly shined shoes in your socks. Especially if the shoes are black and your socks are white.
2. Don't put your vows in your jeans pocket then wash them without checking the pocket.
3. Don't grab your tuxedo from the store 20 minutes before you get on the road to leave town without at least checking inside the bag.
4. Don't prank call your wife-to-be at 7:00 am the morning of your wedding, especially when the wedding isn't until 7:00 pm.
5. Don't splurge and buy a basket of garlic fries within twenty-four hours of the wedding.

Top 5?
Yeah, I can top that!
Please excuse me
If I don't seem terribly thirlled
Although this is an honor
that gives me a few chills.
But you see, my dear reader,
I have more excitement than I can stand
For now I have a new house
And I have just eloped to marry a wonderful man
So I raise my glass of champagne
And to my screen I shall toast
Are you with me out there?
Because soon, this journal I'll roast.
A new format I think
One of notes on gardening and decor
When I transform my house
Into one of splendor.
Now go visit Karmic Laughter
the journal that tells it all
I promise I'll be writing more
before the end of this fall.
As for now I shall leave you
To comment with an icon smile
Because in an hour I'll be preparing
To walk down the aisle.

Groom's Tux
Wil tried this on today (and I should add that he's even more handsome than this model) and right there and then I knew it was perfect! We were supposed to go to lunch after picking the tuxedos, but... Well, lunch was delayed a bit.

Groomsmen Suits

Finding the Tux

Finding the groomsmen suits were a piece of cake. Why can't shopping for a dress be just as easy (or as inexpensive)?

Bridesmaids Shoes
~Yawn~ | Seems trivial, but these are cute!
Sweet!
I know, I know it seems a bit trivial, but shoes can make or break the whole ensemble. This sweet thing is comfortable, affordable and can be worn often after the wedding. Less than $40 it's a winner!

Bridesmaids Dresses
Talking In My Sleep | My true love, but it's not going to happen
Absolutely Beautiful
I adore this dress and not just because the model looks like a dead-ringer for my best friend, Diedre, but the lines, flow and sexiness of this dress just make it so beautiful. It only comes in white, is over $300 and the chances of wearing it other than the wedding is lower than the other three. If we were to get this as the bridesmaids dress, I'd want it dyed in emerald green. But that would only increase the cost as well as the risk and that's too much for me to ask of the bridal party. But I can dream, right? I do like the choices I've posted, so I'm okay just pinning this pic up on my wall and giving a slight sigh now and again.

Bridesmaids in Black [3]
Getting Crosseyed | Third picture
Off-Shoulder Dress
This is my first choice of the three and will probably be the dress the bridesmaids will be wearing. As with the others I've already added, it only comes in black (see below entries for my reasoning). Again, this one is less than $100 and can be worn more than once. On the advice of a good friend who got married less than a year ago, I may make everyone sign an agreement stating they won't wear the dress before the wedding. She was the one who clued me in to going to a department store to find bridesmaid dresses and look in the evening gowns instead of the bridal department. However, one of her younger bridesmaids wore the dress three weeks prior to her wedding to a formal. Luckily, nothing bad happened to the dress, but it was very disrespectful.

Bridesmaids in Black [2]
Even more exhausted | Second picture of four
Scoop Neck Simplistic & Classy
As with the first dress (below), this is a nice, simple yet classy dress less than $100 that can be worn again by the bridesmaids. This too comes only in black.
