To boldly go where no man has gone before

Chillin' | Sunday Editorial

Boldly forward

Be bold. There is no guarantee of success, but there is the guarantee of failure when you don't even make an attempt. Though there is no guarantee of success, you significantly increase the probability of your own success as soon as you take the first step forward.

Boldly take that first step, and the next one, and the next. Suddenly the goal looks infinitely more attainable. Suddenly you will know with confidence that it is within your reach.

Be willing to do whatever is necessary. Doing almost everything necessary is not nearly enough. If you're going to make the effort, then make the full and complete effort. Otherwise it's just a waste of your precious time and energy.

There are plenty of difficult obstacles in your path. Don't allow yourself to become one of them. You can meet the challenges, you can overcome those obstacles, you can achieve success by boldly stepping forward. Once you do, you'll wonder why you ever hesitated.

I would like to dedicate the before mentioned prose to my mother. May her travels in heaven be as beautiful as they were here on Earth. Happy Mothers Day.

As always

Peace

Relax Get to It

With the weekend started, I looked back at my week with my new employee's and the direction that I was taking them as their, trainer, mentor, and boss. Remembering: Heather when she told me when she begins to get flustered "she panics". Not good I guess if you work on the bomb squad. Or Alex who is like an actor on stage who is "looking for his motivation". Then there's Mike who wants to know "exactly what has to be done", word for word, and then proceeds to do it. At our sales meeting Friday, I looked across the conference room table and knew I had to say sometime to quiet their jangled nerves. So here is a portion of the meetings notes (Below).

Relax-expect to improve

Reach a little higher today than yesterday. Raise your expectations a little bit more. After all, you're wiser and more experienced than you were even just a day ago. In fact, you now have more knowledge and more experience than you've ever had before in your life.

Even if yesterday was a total disaster, you've at least learned something from it. And if yesterday was full of success, you've learned from that as well. The bottom line is that you're more experienced, more aware of what works and what doesn't work.

So reach higher today than you did yesterday. And resolve to reach even higher tomorrow. As time goes on you're continually growing and improving, so you might as well take advantage of that.

Reach higher, and you'll attain more. Expect more of yourself, and those expectations will soon become your reality. Each day provides ample opportunity for improvement. So expect to improve. And you will.

I guess the statement is true for all of us, not just "newbies" so if your a little frustrated, jangled, or just up tight, relax-expect to improve.

As Always

Peace

Bigger than you

Bigger than you

If it were not for those who devote their lives, and who often give their lives, for a cause bigger than themselves, the world would be an entirely different place than it is today. We enjoy freedom because so many have served its cause and died for it. We benefit from knowledge, wisdom and faith because of all who have devoted their lives to advancing them.

Each day you have an opportunity to continue that legacy and to expand upon its goodness. When you live your moments in the service of something bigger than yourself, you experience a fulfillment that goes beyond anything you could possibly find in self-centered pursuits.

Take care of yourself, to be sure. That is your responsibility. Take care of your world as well, and make sure to leave each place you go, each person you meet, each moment you live, better off than you found them, better for your having been a part of them. That is the highest possible expression and expansion of yourself.

Have a great weekend

As Always Peace

Go ahead Imagine-Sunday's Editorial

Chillin'

Now that I've returned to blogging, with a renewed vigor, and the last couple of weeks are under my belt. It's time to return to my original, style of prose.

So as you relax on this Sunday, go ahead and Imagine.

Right now you are creating yourself. Your thoughts, your beliefs, your actions, your decisions, the things you say, the songs you sing, your hopes, your prayers, the things you learn all go into making the person you are, and the person you are to become. Every moment you're in the process of creating a person who is like no other, a life that is special.

It is an opportunity which has no equal in this world, and it is yours. Some people will take that opportunity and really run with it. Indeed, it is difficult to imagine why anyone would want to do anything less.

Right now you are moving steadily toward being the person you will become. Right now you have the opportunity to fashion a life that is as splendid as anything you can imagine. So go ahead and imagine, because you're already busy making it so.

T.G.I.F

Ecstatic | Ghost Whisper

The weekend is here and the weather is slowly improving. Rain one day and sunshine the next. So it's anybodys guess, what the weekend has in store for me. Maybe I'll finally be able to spend some quality time cleaning up the yard from a long drawn out winter. Or maybe not.

The week has been long for some reason, it just doesn't seem to want to end. The office is coming along fine, I finally won the battle of the computer (Apple vs Paul). The dam thing blewup...no kidding. So I got a PC instead. Been very busy, 2 training classes in one week. 1 for our advertising side and a new class for our web side. I've been handed the responsibility of shoring up one of our lower producing divisions, I publishers, which hasn't had any real structure since it's inception about a year ago. So wish me luck, basically starting from ground zero.

To the Jlanders who particapated in the guessing game with my class pictures below from 7th grade. I'm in the second row, second from the right, this picture was taken about 2 years before I had to wear glasses. I hope you all have a safe weekend...and remember somone today needs your love.

Sunday Editorial coming up...

I started Spring cleaning

Quiet | Evening News

Spring Cleaning has begun, last night I was so bored I began cleaning out a few of the closets. Lo and Behold I found some cool memories.  Like the price list for my school pictures when I was in the 7th grade. WOW $2.00 for the whole selection.

Plus I also found my class picture. OMG look at the hair. Bet you, can't find me in the class picture. Look real close,  keep looking.

Now compare it to the one in the upper left hand corner.

Sunday's Editorial

Chillin' | Dr. Who

Boy over the last week alot has been going on, works been hectic, weather has been anything but spring like. Earth day was celebrated, Jlanders were introduced to by buddy " Dodgeball" in Fridays blog. Many of my readers have asked for a little bit more info on the dog. So today's Editorial is dedicated to him.

If you have read the back story on "Dodgeball" last Friday, I decided then to give everyone the tale behind how he got his name.

It actually all began about 7 years ago, when we first brought him home, I had a logging chain with collar clip installed in the yard for the first couple of days, but realized early on, that he needed his exercise. So as I awoke the next morning, I threw on my jeans grabbed the red leash we had gotten from the ARL and lead my buddy out the door. Almost immediately you could sense the smile on his face, as he bound threw the gate, nose down sniffing as he walked. Turning the corner on to the sidewalk, we made our way down the sidewalk in front of the house, both with a spring in our step. But even before we had made it past our front gate, I heard a snapping sound, and realized almost immediately that the bright new red leash had broken off right in my hand.

The next sight I saw was my newly acquired golden lab sprinting, down the sidewalk and right across 4 lanes of a major artery, running thru our neighborhood. As I ran after him, my mind raced, imagining the worst, screeching brakes, squealing tires the sound of tearing metal. But lo and behold nothing. Not a sound. As I looked up there he was patiently sitting down on the opposite corner across the street with the broken red leash dangling across his back, tongue hanging out, barking up a storm.

But, before I could cross the street and grab him, he bound back into the highway, racing across oblivious to the large Dodge Ram truck, bearing down on him at breakneck speed. In a flash before my very eyes, he was struck, crushing the front grill and headlights, rolling up on the hood and into the windshield. Bouncing on the pavement he rolled viciously across the pavement up to the curb. Racing to his side my heart sank so deep the pain was unbearable. Was he dead? Was he injured? When I arrived at his side I could see him slowly breathing, but he didn't look good. So I picked him up and ran to our car, which was only a half block away in the driveway. Rushing to our vet I carried his limb body into into the office where the doctor, immediately put him in his room to begin his examination. An hour passed, then another, then a third...finally the doctor came out and told me the news.

After a complete examination to his surprise no broken bones, were found, no fractures and to his complete amazement no internal injuries. Just cuts, scrapes, and embedded asphalt particles within his coat. I closed my eyes and said a quiet prayer of thanks for the miracle I had just seen. After what seemed like hours of pacing in the office, the doctor told me to go home and I could probably pick him up tomorrow after an over night stay for further examination.

As I walked in the door to the house...I knew I had witnessed a genuine miracle...for my buddy...who had bounced and rolled across four lanes of traffic...just like a child's "Dodgeball" in the road.

That's the complete story on how he got his name, as I watch him sleep next to me on the floor, I know he is the best.

As always

Peace
