My Turn
Happy | Mary J Blige~No More Drama

I'm so excited to get my shot at Guest Editor! Thanks Joe! How do I love AOL, let me count the ways...;-) First off, I met my Dutch in a chat room here in March 04. We carried on long distance for a year; when that became too unbearable and expensive and after many years in CA, I moved with pets in tow to Philadelphia almost a year ago. I grew up in CT so back East feels like home, but I'll always miss certain things about CA like: my son (who still lives there), the weather, the Pacific and the Redwoods. :::::::::::sigh::::::::::: However today I can't complain about the weather at least as we have Springy blue skies and near 70 degrees.
If you're really curious about my likes and dislikes you can read my profile. Homepage is a graphics page I called Sassy's Domain; I have not gotten to changing anything in a while and just want to mention that I don't go to the church on there, but I really love the graphic! My other two journals are: SassysWORD (creative style writing mostly; I have some new entries/ poems that I hope you will check out!) or SassysSecondWord (started in PA for keeping current with JLand). I am working on a 4th that would feature Dutch's paintings.
Drum roll...Onward to my picks! My theme developed to be: phenomenal women photographers and graphic artists! The challengewas to find at least a few that you may not be familiar with.

Graphic sent to me by Bedazzled
Nancy at NancyLuvsPics has talent for photography that you can plainly see in her crisp, clear and lovely flower shots. Sassy is quite partial to flowers; each one is a miracle of creation in its' beauty and differences. In JLand we appreciate big hearts, supportive comments and creative talent. Nancy is all that! ;-)
Linda at AttheBaseoftheMountains is our nature girl from NY. She features captivating bird shots in particular along with memorable landscapes. Not one to be shy about her daily life, go read and view portraits of her family and adorable dogs. Inquiring minds want to know if your niece had that baby yet?
Reverend Sugar (yes she is an ordained minister) MYBELOVEDFURRBABIES
has three journals covering: pets, God and personal. Read life from "her girls" (dogs) perspective and if you're a pet lover don't miss her Valentine special entry of pet photos of JLand. You can offer and request prayers at PRAYING4U and keep up on the trials and tribulations of her daily life, SUGARSLIFE, which includes dealing with health and chronic pain issues, her children and some keen insights gleaned form what Sassy calls "rich life experience"!
Krissy at SometimesIThink is always thinking and seldom worrying. Her John has just had a bone marrow transplant; he's a champ, doing so well and knows I think he's all that! ;-) John~Ihope you start your own journal when your energy gets a little more restored. Krissy keeps busy with a private journal;
also she runs Photo Scavenger Hunt and Monday Morning Question games every week when she's not needed as the "bestest nurse". I challenge you to find a more supportive, fun and active community member. Love ya Kris and John!...While these two have been away at Hope House on transplant business, Betty over at Of Mini-paws and Menopause has been graciously substituting as hostess for the games. Her Faith shines through every entry---plus Sassy says she has good sense and a cute dog! ;-) Krissy's sister, Val at ValsThoughts is a doll too; she has a Wordplay game on Wednesdays. She has the best attitude and spirit while dealing with daily chronic pain. Stop by and congratulate her on soon becoming a young Grandma. If you want to be impressed and inspired go check all of these ladies out! Did you notice how I snuck in Betty and Val on Krissy's pick?;-)
Nicki at Bedazzled you may already know about, but I had to include her in my phenomenal women list. Her outstanding writing will often grab and haunt you; she's not afraid to take you form "light and airy" to the cemetery in rapid succession. You'll be nodding your head in recognition of deep feelings (if you have some ;-) as you admire stunning graphics, her painting and heart warming family pride.
Mary Louise at MARYLOUISESPHOTOSHOOT you will see exquisite work. Every single photo I viewed current and in archives has careful, creative andclear composition, angle and style. She covers many places geographically to keep landscapes captivating; currently she shows some beauties from Santa Barbara, CA. If you have an eye for quality photography, don't miss this click!
As every guest editor will relate to, I went insane trying to feature just six journals. JLand and BlogSpot are huge and brimming with talent and entertainment! So believe me when I tell you that for my bakers' dozen of honorable mentions I actually put names on little pieces of paper of journals I read into a favorite mixing bowl....(ya know one of those sturdy glass ones usually nesting three to a set your Mom might have had?)

Another drum roll....Presented here in the order picked...#1 winner is Spence over at SpencersPlace ~This guy can write some top notch romantic poetry. He is the only person I've met in JLand who will leave me a comment in the form of an impromptu poem. Ya just gotta love him! ;-)
In the second spot we have Linda at FootprintsintheSand~Her journal has great layout, graphics and tons of interesting photos that often tell a story of a family excursion. She is fun to celebrate every single holiday with and learn about the Bible particularly as Easter approaches!
Third place goes to an angel at FriendsinHIM. You can easily guess angelRose2 is very religious/spiritual. This sweet lady knows her Bible upside down and inspires me with her positive attitude and sparkling graphics.
Phinney at Paragon~Extraordinary portraits of animals, people landscapes and so much more. Her Photoshop skills add to her delivery. I can't say enough about her talent!
Carly of Ellipsis...SuddenlyCarly~ Her journal in Sassy's grade book (yes, I was a teacher at one time ;-) gets an A for artistic and written expression. You will see class, unique style and perspective worthy of award winning photography here. Carly and Karen at Outpost Mavarin (this is Karen's journal link) are the hostesses of the game I love most:
The Round Robin Photo Challenge. BTW, if you like science fiction (I have that feeling Karen will be publishing in the very near future!) and/or thorough and well done weekend assignments for John, check her out on blogspot. Ok, now I must slip in that John Scalzi (many of us call him Father;-0 ) made it possible for me to be unintimidated enough to do my very first journal story about my beloved dog, Teddy Bear. His weekend assignments are a great place to start if you're new to journaling; he gives you your assignment and even offers extra credit. Congrats to John on his newly published book of science fiction.
Marie at Photographs and Memories Too ~She has loads of journals all with stunning photography of especially beautiful landscapes. It's hard not to over use adjectives when describing the wonderful photo journals we have here at our fingertips. (No, Sassy has no time to use a Thesarus!) As I said about Phinney, I can't say enough about Marie's talent so go see for yourself if you have not yet done so!

TJ of EveryPictureTellsaStory has grown in sopistication and creativity on Blogspot! Not that PaisleySkys was not good, but this new one is so innovative plus she has a writer's club and wants new members and readers. Check her out!
Mutualaide at LifeonFlamingoRow is private, but if you ask nicely she will let you in...maybe! ;-) Sassy has not forgotten how hard she worked to get those Cardinal shots. The other day she captured a fox! She's a great story-teller too; she is one of many awesome writers I met when JudithHeartSong did her Heart Song Awards writing contest on AOL.
JudyPearlLove at HomeHomeontheRange had to go private also. If you can proove you're not a danger to yourself or others she may let you in. ;-) In her new journal she continues where she left off in TooBlessedtobeStressed. "Pearl" is among my first regular reads; she has a very full entertaining life, great "tude" and the prettiest horse ranch you've ever seen.
Rose of WaitNotYet is my very top favorite photo journal that I have been reading the longest. Her nature shots will blow your socks off; she quotes classic poetry to perfectly match every photo. If you love flowers and daffodils right now in particular don't miss this one!
Tammy at MyLifeAsAWarrior is a brave inspirational sweetheart. Her writing is top quality (see her at TJ's writing club too) If you want to read about her special wedding in Hawaii check out her Valentine's Day entry; it's awesome!
Donna of Thisandthatandhockey and D's Designs~If you don't know her by now Sassy may have to check your pulse! lol...I tease her that because of all the awesome animation graphics and tags I save from her (youwill see them right here in this entry!) I have to buy more hard drive. Seriously, Donna is one of the most generous and talented graphic designers I have ever met. Sassy likes to think her opinion counts cuz she has a certificate in Graphic Arts. ;-0
Last and hardly least is Dianna of SazzyKreationz. This young lady is busy being a student, getting married, writing romantic sexy and poignant poetry and trying to catch Donna in her growing talent for creating and freely offering tags to JLand. Ahhh, but then you knew all that cuz she was just Guest Editor...
So that concludes my long-winded entry. If you're still with me and are mad that I didn't see fit to mention you please take pity on my googly eyes 8-) from hunting down and posting dang hyperlinks!
Journalers and bloggers of JLand and Blogspot rock on!!!!
With much love & appreciation,
Sassy Deb

Donna and Marie colaboration this one!
