Home At Last
It was a busy day. I started out the day with laundry detail, and decided to go ahead and put things back into the kitchen in order to clear my dining room table. I took care of the dog and more laundry, and then sat down and ate a bowl of Curves cereal and had a cup of coffee. I don't drink coffee often, but it seemed like just the ticket with how chilly and damp it was outside. Then, I spent the good part of the rest of the morning with my husband, and finally got out the door around noon. My adventure started at the grocery store where I met my daughter and niece. It was an absolute mad house. You would of thought a blizzard was coming, lol. However, again I was pleasantly surprised at how nice everyone seemed to be, and in good spirits. Sure made it refreshing to be out and about. I was able to get everything I needed with exception of two items. So, I sent the girls on home with the first load, and I ended up having to go to two more stores before being able to head home. Once home, I had to update the ole checkbook from the last couple days of shopping, which was painful, LOL. I also wrapped up a few more presents, and went online to purchase my eldest daughter's gift that I was unable to find anywhere. I will cut a picture out and put it in an envelope as an IOU. It will arrive in a week or so, and she'll be fine with it. It is a coat rack, lol. She's so like me in some respects, because when she asked what I wanted I had told her, well I need one of those garment keepers. "Garment keeper" she asks? I said, yes the thing you hang extra clothes in. That's what I wanted. Oh, and I also spied a flannel robe in the men's department. I know, I know...not feminine - but it was so soft and comfy looking. I probably will not get it. I bought a cute kinda gag present for the niece too. She likes penguins, and Target had the cutest plates, bowls and glasses in penguin decor, lol. So, I picked her up a set. It will probably get me a raised eyebrow from her, but I know secretly she'll love it, lol. My final trip out came later this evening. The neice and I ran into the local town and picked up chinese soup and rice, a light fare dinner. It was just the ticket. On the way back, I decided to stop and admire the above home all decked out in lights. Each year, this family adds something new to it. The picture does not give it justice, but I can tell you it sure brightens up the neighborhood and is the delight of every child that gets a chance to see it.
I enjoying a few moments of quiet right now. The youngest DD and husband went out shopping for mama. I hope he'll stop by Target and get me the robe I wanted, lol.
Tomorrow is cooking day, so think I'm going to rest up now. Have a good one............

Hi Lynne,
That's so funny ... you want a Garment Keeper and your daughter wants a Coat Rack for Christmas! I guess you've really been a strong influence on her. I'll bet you both do a lot of shopping at "The Container Store" (that is, if they have those back east)!
Best,
Marty
