My Sister Is Funny

I left work early yesterday to go put a contract on a lot.  They lowered the deposit from $1K to $500, which may not be refundable.  The house plan is too expensive and I was hoping my sister emailed me the new one but I had nothing in my email from her this morning.  She was really tired last night, bless her.  It did not take long.  I came home and had a lean cuisine for dinner, and a WW candy bar for a snack.  It was called "peanut butter bliss".  Mmmm.  It is about the size of a the dove bar minitures, but inspite of its size I was filled up.

So then I settled in for the purpose of study time.  I got hung up on one problem when my twin sister called.  She was coming over to my house.  She had dropped her daughter off by church and decided to wait it out over here.  I wasn't getting anywhere with the problem I was working so thought maybe it was a blessing in disguise and put the math books up.  We started looking at classmates.com at old classmates.  I attended two high schools growing up.  We were transfer students in our Junior year.  It was difficult because the school had some very tight cliques.  My parents did not promote after school activities (ie., sports, clubs, etc.) because it would mean a sacrifice on their part to get us to and from the events.  It was a lonely time for us but at least we had each other.  Anyway I digress, it was strange but I could not remember most of the names listed.  My sister did, but for whatever the reason I don't.  It worries me sometimes how I forget my past, lol.  Just blocks of it, gone.  I remember few people from those years.  One fellow I do remember because i had to hear about him alllll the time from my twin.  She had a huge crush on him, lol.  He had a picture posted and let's just say he has changed quite a bit and not in the most attractive sense.  She was so tortured with him growing up.  She said everyone had a crush on him, well except you.  No, I did not.  I used to really like a boy from our church during this time, but we we ended up never getting past being just friends.  I do believe its because his mother loved me to no end, and he was not going to do anything his mother liked during this time frame, lol.  Actually, that turned out to be a good deal for me.  I survived the rejection.  High school was so painful and when people say they'd like to go back in time, I think I would by pass HS and move right onto my 20s.  Now that would be okay, my 20s.

Today, we're going down to the water front for lunch at work to send one of my team mates off.  My supervisor declined coming with us, which is sending very negative messages.  However, she does not care.  I like my boss, even though I don't always agree with her.  She is funny and direct.  Not sure why she has declined, but its her decision and so she asked me to "represent".  Been muddling what I will say insofar as a farewell speech.  I hate getting up in front of crowds and giving speeches, so this will be short, sweet and to the point.  My stomach has been acting up lately, and I am a bit concerned because seafood fare is not the best average for a good stomach day where I am concerned.

Anyhow...I am procrastinating.  I need to get going ....

    Hi Lynne,
I know what you mean about forgetting people from high school.  I've forgotten a lot of them both from high school and college.  Scary, isn't it ... it's almost as if you only have so much room for people in your memory banks and all of the new ones have squeezed out the old ones!
    Best,
    Marty

I would never want to go back to high school, LOL; people say its the best time of their lives, but its only 4 years and it is filled with angst and drama and hormones, LOL

I didn't know you were a twin; that's neat! It is hard to change schools, though, especially if there are cliques. We moved our son at the start of his senior year, it was tough, but thank you Lord, he find some good friends (and some bad ones too, LOL). It was a good move because I don't think he would have graduated had we stayed where we lived before; by the grace of the Lord he graduated here, thank you Lord

    hope you enjoy your lunch/day

    betty
