Surprise!
Two calls came in from the husband's side of the family last night, and with it a "surprise" news story.
His daughter asked for a bike for her birthday. She found a "Schwin" mountain bike she'd like. So, we're trying to figure out how to get it because it was out of stock online. She is to go to her local Walmart and see if they have it in the store and will let us know. Next up, we talked with his sister and she finally conceded his son has planned a surprise visit with us for a week, and will bringing her with him. YIKES! They are to arrive 30 May. So, we need to do some heavy cleaning and rearranging in order to accomodate their stay. Not to mention rearranging schedules so we can enjoy their time here. I tried talking to him about it before and he was glib, but I got it out of the sister. I don't like surprises like this one, at all. It simply comes down to our line of work does not accomodate last minute requests for leave. I was going to have a yard sale that Saturday too, so that will have to be rearranged.
Well need to get onto work.

Hope everything gets done and you have a nice visit with them.

Short surprise visits might be fun......surprises that involve staying over often create hardships. Glad you got a heads up. - Barbara

I don't like these kinds of "surprises" at all. It's great to spend time with the family, but they shouldn't plan to swoop in and visit you as a "surprise." They should plan it with you together and find a date that works for everyone. What kind of "BS" is this -- ho, ho, ho ... we're coming to stay with you next weekend but weren't going to tell you ...?!?
Best,
Marty
