The house is clean! I think we should have unexpected company that we find out and then are expected more often, LOL. The only down side is the soon-to-be NIL (nephew-in-law?) was not able to finish painting the kitchen. I was going to have him just kilz over the wallpaper that was left behind, but he said if I would let him come back, he'd remove it and then paint it right. Otherwise, it would be bumpy. So, he painted what he could and then I sent him home. I tackled the upstairs and the husband did the downstairs. He went and got a steam cleaner and cleaned the carpet downstairs. Oh it looks so nice now! We do want to have a yard sale but will wait until the following weekend after company leaves. More effort to "declutter" is underway, woot.
The eldest daughter called and realized her lease states she is obligated for 13 months vs. 12 month, it was a mistake. However, the landlord said if she could show 12 payments he will consider releasing her in June vs. July. She was able to come up with copies of all payments, but four. Three are coming in the mail through her bank, and the last one her BF used a money order and of course he did not keep a receipt. Lessons learned. She is really stressing over how this is going to turn out. I hope the landlord will work with her and not take advantage of the error. However, he's a businessman and he's trying to make money. She may just have to play this out thru July, but it doesn't mean she has to live there. She can always pay the rent and move back home early. She is just so tired of the long commute. I recommended she stay with us a few months until she can start saving money again and put enough away to cover three months worth of rent. We'll see.
So, I'm going thru my banking receipts this morning and looked online and noted an almost $80 charge from where I had lunch at yesterday. What???!!!! I know the price of Milk is going up, but this was a grilled cheese sandwich for Pete's sake! There is no number on the receipt, so I am going to have to truck back overthere at lunch time and try and resolve the issue. Grrrr.
I may not be online for the next week, with my daughter's graduation ceremony and family coming into town. They will be here thru 6 June, and that is the same day my youngest will travel to OC for her Senior week. Her dad purchased a condo unit for her and her friends. He's nuts, what can I say, LOL. They said they may pop into check on how they are doing. I hope she has a good time.
Speaking of the youngest, the young man that was hassling her finally broke down and apologized. She said he apologized for about three straight hours and she finally told him to shut up. The others are coming around too now. My first thought, well how convenient, right when she is going to OC - is this all for the sake of getting a free ticket? She told me she already told them there was no more room at the Inn and they were not invited. Good girl! She said she will go out with them once in a blue moon, but it can never be the same and she is not interested in teaming up with them after how they acted. So it was a take or leave them attitude. I'm glad the kid's brain cells finally started working and he realized the error of his ways, but even more happy that my daughter may forgive them but is not going to be easily swayed back into hanging out with this group. I hope it stays this way. She is keeping it small going to OC. She said she invited one girl from school, and an old friend from church. The girl from church will bring her boyfriend.
Well I need to get ready for the day..........

Have a great time with the "surprise" guests! I know how you feel about the mysterious credit card charge. Yesterday I noticed a $1K charge on my card from a company I never heard of. I was irate, working myself up to call the credit card company and contest the charge. And then suddenly it dawned on me ... it was a deposit for a work-related dinner I'm hosting next month, I just never knew the name of the restaurant where it's taking place so it looked very suspicious!

We are going to steam clean our carpets this weekend. Frightening the amount of dirt that comes out even when you vacuum every day. I hope your daughter's graduation is wonderful and you all enjoy yourselves.
