Next Tuesday or Wednesday there should be a countdown betweeen the showdown of #1 ranked Ohio St. Buckeyes and #2 Michigan Wolverines. This game will happen on November 18 and this is the game that probably will determine the BCS National Championship. Right now, USC has been put aside as #3 but a Michigan loss

sorry not finished.

The Detroit Tigers have capped off a 8-5 win last night over the Oakland Athletics. The Tigers are on a roll winning 5 straight in the playoffs. Yep that is right, The Detroit Tigers haven't lost since Game 1 of the ALDS. The Tigers have rolled over the Yankees and are starting out right against the A's with a 2-0 series lead.

Other than this news there is some bad news, Cory Lidle had passed the morning of game day yesterday. He was flying a plane when the communication was broken up with airspace and then the plane went out of wack and it smashed into a high-rise in New York City. Of course the NY citizens were freaked out because the thought of terrorists came to mind but they soon found out that wasn't the case. Having played for the A's some former teammates were upset because they had lost a good friend they have played with. So they were prbably not as focused last night but if they were they probably played their guts out in memory of Cory Lidle. Cory Lidle, dead at 34 years of age.

But the Oakland Athletics still have other problems. Being down 2-0 in the ALCS there is a known fact by every team that no team has ever came back to win the ALCS when trailing the series 2-0. There is one player who still has high hopes and think he knows for sure they can come back. Milton Bradley is confident and knows they can come back, Quote""We've been chasing uphill all season. We've just got to continue to do it." End Quote. Sounds like he is confident and confidence is a positive thing. But there is another interesting series going down. The Cardinals and Mets are facing off in the NLCS and whoever wins will play the Tigers or the Athletics in the World Series. I hope it will be a Mets-Tigers World Series.

And here is an extra bonus here is Cory Lidle's Final statistics according to ESPN.

This is sad, one of Uruguay's top soccer players had to have his leg amputated after getting into an accident on a highway. He got thrown out of his car and "CRUNCH." That must have hurt and then getting your leg chopped off and waking up to that, I would have been extremely sad and would have cryed my brains out. Mainly because you are a top player in your country and you are on the National team at age 33, then you have to end your career due to a horrible accident. That just sucks and I feel bad for him.

Here is the story:

By Associated Press

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay - The shattered right leg of top Uruguayan soccer player Dario Silva was amputated after he was thrown from his car in a highway accident, hospital officials said Monday.

The 33-year-old forward, a member of the national team, was driving along a Montevideo road that fronts the River Plate Estuary early Sunday when his car struck a light post on a center divider, police said. He hurtled through a side window, and his right leg was caught and badly broken as the light post toppled over the car, authorities said.

The Asociacion Espanola clinic said Silva remained under heavy sedation after the amputation.

"The amputation was carried out just below the knee of his right leg. But he is going back into the surgery unit to determine if there has been any infection," Dr. Mario Cancela said, adding sand and dirt appeared to have been ground into the leg by the fallen post.

"We have to keep cleaning this area to prevent any infection from spreading," he said.

Authorities said Silva was accompanied by two former players _ Dardo Pereira, 34, was not injured, and Elbio Papa, 40, was slightly injured and had to be extricated from the car's twisted metal.

Silva left Sevilla in Spain and Portsmouth in England in 2005, but was released and has been without a club. Silva also has played in the Italian and Uruguayan leagues.

So all I can say now is Goodbye Dario Silva. "I feel bad for you"

First of all I want to start out on a topic that has happened in Michigan, which is my homestate. To kick it off a High School football team in Oscoda has had the remaining games of their season canceled. This is due to an embarrassing 0-4 start and they haven't even scored a single point their whole freakin' season! That must really suck if you are a player on that team or a parent of a player. The coach said that the players had risked injuries just to play tougher opponents and I think that is unsafe and unnecessary. You can't play tougher opponents when you aren't that strong of a team, that is just Retarded. But really, I mainly feel bad for the poor seniors who had played their last games on the field. Too bad because if they were star players on the team they could have been recognized by colleges around the nation. I would be mad to here the rest of the season was cancelled. And then to get lectured by the board that they weren't quitters. That is crap right there, they know their not quitters but evidently the board doesn't know it.

Switching gears now to an incident that has happened in Layton, Utah where a 15 year old Freshman football player is getting assault charges put onto him because he chose to stuff a thumbtack into his glove before shaking hands with a school rival. The kid was kicked off the team and I think he should be because you can't hurt another person just because they are your rivals, oh and get this, it has been said that that the two schools have been playing pranks on eachother for a longtime. Now that kid might have known that and wanted to keep the tradition but he carried it to far. The student could be facing other school problems like expulsion if the school administrator considers the tack a weapon. If I had the decision to choose whether or not to do that I would not.

And one last incident occurred, New Jersey has now made a rule that High Schools check their athletes for steroids. I think it is a good idea because that way they work for what they love, not cheat.

Last Night after the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Washington Redskins they got informed that T.O. or Mr. Stupidity broke his finger and that he would need surgery. He will likely to a plate put in. He claimed that during the game he thought he jammed it pretty badly and he kept playing not noticing the swelling.

Now I think he is going to screw up the Cowboys organization likewise the Eagles leaving sour memories in their heads. I think he will play sissy after he is healed just to get out of practice. Owens only has 9 receptions and 99 yards for the season and 1 touchdown. They predict he will be off the field for 2-4 weeks but I think he will be gone longer.

Anyway the Cowboys have a bye this Sunday and a game against the Titans and then play the Eagles. Either Owens or Philly will get revenge that game. T.O. has been slow to recover from a hamstring injury this pre-season. Also last night against the Redskins he had a few dropped balls and a couple of penalties against Mr. Mouth and now is injured, oh well. Now you know what to expect from Dallas this year.

When he first shown up.

Yesterday before the pre-game show I decided to select the winners of each game and it was very interesting because I did very well. But anyway here is the recap of yesterday's NFL games.

Colts 43 vs. Texans 24 (Matt 1-0) Peyton Manning was a star like always but he would prefer less mistakes and more results.

Saints 34 vs. Packers 27 (Matt 2-0) Brett Favre has come back from last weeks blowout loss to Chicago. But he still lost even though his 340 pass yards and 3 touchdowns?

Bengals 34 vs. Browns 17 (Matt 3-0) Who doesn't like Chad Johnson's endzone dances? Well he put up 78 yards on 6 receptions and a touchdown.

Raiders 6 vs. Ravens 28 (Matt 4-0) The Ravens pounded on the Raiders who didn't have a shot in this one. Aaron Brooks getting injured didn't help them and their chances either.

Giants 30 vs. Eagles 24 (OT.) (Matt 5-0) If you didn't see this game you missed most of the action. The Giants down 7-24 in the 4th Quarter and score 17 points sending the game to overtime. Then Eli Manning's bomb to Plaxico Burress for the win.

Bills 16 vs. Dolphins 6 (Matt 5-1) The Bills took control throughout the game not really giving Miami any chances. Should the Dolphins tryout Joey Harrington because they almost have nothing to lose.

49ers 20 vs. Rams 13 (Matt 6-1) Jeff Wilkins 6 field goals last week in a win over Denver didn't save the Rams one bit here.

Patriots 24 vs. Jets 17 (Matt 7-1) Is this another championship run for the Pats? Tom Brady 220 passing yards and a touchdown helped the Pats hop out to victory.

Bears 34 vs. Lions 7 (Matt 8-1) Ok this was just to hard to watch. My homestate team getting killed on the road. Instead of looking like Lions they looked like kittens. Also prblems holding onto the ball hurt them 3 fumbles in bad spots to have them.

Falcons 14 vs. Buccaneers 3 (Matt 9-1) The Falcons dominated in the in the running portion of the game setting a team record 298 rushing yards. Not very many passing attempts by Vick but he went 10-15, 92 yards and a touchdown.

Vikings 16 vs. Panthers 13 (OT.) (Matt 10-1) This overtime thriller was decided by Ryan Longwell faking a fieldgoal kick and passing it to Richard Owens for the score. Then Longwell delivered the final blow in overtime.

Seahawks 21 vs. Cardinals 10 (Matt 11-1) Hasselbeck had some issues with turnovers. He threw 2 interceptions and fumbled the ball but he didn't lose the fumble. The Seahawks did survive with Hasselbeck by throwing for 221 yards and a touchdown.

Chargers 40 vs. Titans 7 (Matt 12-1) Not much to say here but a blowout. Rivers and Tomlinson together shredded apart the Titans D.

Broncos 9 vs. Chiefs 6 (OT.) (Matt 13-1) Another overtime game and another fieldgoal fest. The game was decided by Jason Elam's 39 yard boot for the win.

Cowboys 27 vs. Redskins 10 (Matt 13-2) T.O. is out having surgery now. Not for his leg but for his finger he broke it during the 2nd half and is out. This is going to hurt the Cowboys now due to the fact he is probably going to play sissy.Bledsoe threw for 237 yards and a touchdown. I wonder how Parcells thinks about Terell Owens.

And for the the Steelers and Jaguars game I choose the Steelers to win.

The Buffalo Sabers will show off their new look Sunday to open to public practice. The new logo is similar to the Charlotte Bobcats only the Sabers logo has a tan buffalo leaping over the team name in blue and silver. They are finished with the logo they had last year which was a silver, white and black buffalo head outlined in red. I think the new logo looks pretty cool and better than the old one but some die-hard Buffalo fan may disagree. The new look includes blue and yellow gloves, along with blue pants with yellow stripes down the sides. Also the Sabers announced they will be wearing their 1970-1995 jersey. I think that is the one with the two swords and the cap. Also the jersey is going through final touches because they are debating whether or not it will be the scriptless jersey or not.

And finally the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim have also chosen a new logo that will have the name printed across it with a webbed duck foot for the D in bronze and orange.

  New Buffalo logo

And Goodbye with the old one.

New Anaheim Ducks Logo.

And the Ducks have dropped Mighty out of the name.So they are now called the Anaheim Ducks.

After a last year scare for Tedy Bruschi with the mild stroke he suffered a mild stroke just after winning the Super Bowl over the Eagles. This year bad news hit the Pats when they heard that Tedy broke his wrist. Coach Belichick said that he will not play any preseason games and is not sure if he will start the regular season.

It sucks that Bruschi will miss because he is the heart of the New England defense and I'm a Patriots fan. Bruschi said he will not disappoint and will play the regular season opener against Buffalo. There may be conflict by the time the season starts and teams that have conflict do not do good. Take the Eagles for an example with T.O. last year, he caused so much conflict that's all you heard about and they stunk!!!

Tedy Bruschi had screws inserted in his wrist during his surgery and I think he will be all-right to comeback by the opener. Well I hope. It adds a bad hit to New England because the team lost stars including Adam Vinatieri, David Givens, and Willie McGinest. And a contract holdout with Deion Branch is also in affect.

But good news also hit the Pats as players from the unable to play list came off which included Richard Seymour, Randall Gay, Rodney Harrison, Dan Koppen, and Johnathan Sullivan. This good news because now they have stars back and have depth. Also even with Bruschi out the Patriots are working out veteran Barry Gardner as an inside linebacker to take Bruschi's spot. Hopefully Bruschi will be back.

Some facts of Bruschi and stats of 2005. From ESPN.

Tuesday Manny Legace had found a new home in St. Louis. The veteran who played with the Wings for 6 seasons found himself signing with the Blues who last season had the worst record in the NHL.

Legace, 33 who had been the #1 goalie for Detroit had helped them to a successful season and looked to be in top shape for the playoffs was upset by the #8 seed Edmonton Oilers in the opening round. Then the Wings signed Dominick Hasek and gave Legace the boot. How demeaning being the #1 goalie then getting tossed into a trash heap! Manny should be the #1 goalie for the Blues who had 57 points and missed the playoffs. I wonder what will happen with the Blues this year?? John Davidson had this to say "The Blues are excited to have a goalie with a career winning record on the team." To that I have this comment "Just because you bring in a goalie with a career winning record doesn't mean you will win!" But Legace does own a 114-43-18 record with a 2.221 goals against average so it will be interesting what will happen.

I think the Wings made a mistake by letting him go because he was a good goalie. And he did some great things in Detroit.
