Hi folks -- as I blogged
yesterday, the Publisher r17 release was successfully
installed this morning during the install window between 4 and 6AM.
(This is hearsay, since there is no way in hell that
I would be up that early to watch it
live.)
In addition to a few fixes for performance and stability issues, and some changes to the default template, there are also a slew of new modules for you to play with. You can find them in the Module Directory (for the newest stuff, go to the "All Modules" view and sort by date in the pulldown menu).
The new modules include:
* The Viral Videos Module
* Weird headlines from Strange But True News
* Celebrity Headlines
* A feed from Ask Yahoo!
* News, analysis, reviews, & commentary on our favorite subject from the TV Squad bloggers
* AOL Baseball News
Check them out and let me know what you think.
In another note, the team says that the r17 caused a brief hiccup where profile minipics were not showing up for some folks who had spaces in their screen names. The team identified this problem quickly and it should be fixed now.
Please let me know if you're seeing this or any other problems with your profile.
Also, I said I would do an illustrated tutorial on how to clear your TopSpeed cache, but I am slack and way behind on stuff, so I will have to get it to you tomorrow. Sorry bout that.
Thanks -- Joe
