Hi folks -- just a couple of items from this morning's edition of the weekly team meeting:
* Speed and Stability Enhancements: I mentioned these last week -- at the time, we all saw that editing and viewing profiles felt faster, but we didn't have the numbers in. Well, Bert presented the figures and charts this morning, and we definitely have seen an improvement since the R17 release went in around 10/4.
Part of the reasons things are a little faster was a consolidation of the number of requests that profiles make to the servers when you view and edit them. Fewer requests = less back and forth = faster profiles.
* Next Install: Our next major install should be R17_2 in a few weeks; it will include a bunch of fixes related to the Internet Explorer 7.0 browser (it's still in beta, but Microsoft is expected to release it sometime in October.) Also, there's a bunch of work being put in place for a new, major initiative that we'll see next month... I and the rest of the team will provide more info as we get a little closer.
As a reminder, if you're experiencing problems with your profile:
* For general problems, including problems logging in to your profile, try clearing your browser cache and TopSpeed cache.
* If your third-column modules are wrapping (so they show up at the bottom of your profile), try republishing your profile.
* Having problems with your comments module? Try removing it, then re-adding it.
I've added links to those entries to the sidebar of the main page of this blog. If you have something else that you want to see added to the sidebar, or want to report other issues or problems, send me an e-mail or leave a comment below.
Thanks -- Joe

(Is there any specific way, related to AIM Pages, that I suck, or is this a general observation directed personally at me?) -- Joe
