Hearing Scissor Sisters, I Don't Feel Like Dancing
Hi everybody -- good news: That "coming soon"
stuff I blogged
about last week? It was successfully installed to production
early this morning, starting at 2AM and going until about 8AM ET.
If you were trying to view or edit AIM Pages profiles during this time, you might have seen a little weirdness.
Also, the tech guys are still working on a few small items related to the launch, but for all intents and purposes, we're live now.
Just about the first change you'll see is an updated look for all the AIM Pages system pages, including the AIM Pages Main Page (http://start.aimpages.com/)
Next, when you sign in to edit your AIM Pages profile, you'll see the new Quick Edit mode (http://www.aimcreate.com/.pages/wizard.jsp), which is a lighter, faster way of getting info into your profile without having to mess around with modules.
If you still want to do all that messing about with modules, just jump into Advanced Edit mode, which you can find as link on the Quick Edit mode page (or you can go directly to the Advanced Edit mode URL: http://www.aimcreate.com/.pages/edit.jsp -- it's the same as before).
I and other team members will be getting into more specifics of the launch in a series of entries today. In the meantime, check out the updated AIM Pages FAQ.

Alyssaslade -- I checked with the Product guys; they figured that the pending Buddy Requests count was more relevant to the AIM Pages control panel than the mail count.
They did make a note of your feedback, though (a mail count is a useful thing); they're going to be trying to find new ways to surface the mail count (possibly in other locations, and not just in AIM Pages).
Thanks -- Joe -
I like the new look, but where is the link to my mailbox?
