Hearing Beth Orton, So Much More
Hi folks -- with little fanfare, the team rolled out an improvement that make it a lot easier to delete comments from the comments section of your AIM Pages profile. It's pretty straightforward:
Here's an example of a comment from some troublemaker named "aimpagesteam" that I want to delete (you know, I never realized until now that it can also be read as "AIM Page Steam"):First, click the Edit Page link near the top of the page:Then, click the Comments tab (Comment Stab?) in the left sidebar:(The Comments section has the settings for commenting in your profile, where you can set who can leave you comments, and what kind of comments they can leave [like with hyperlinks and photos]. You can also block commenters, and sign up to get alerts sent to you when someone leaves a comment.)
Most importantly, there's a link that says, "Remove certain selected comments from your page." Click that link.
This will open a new window with a page that shows all your comments. Next to each comment will be an "X." Click the X next to the comment you want to delete:You'll get a warning window. Click the "Delete" button to nuke the comment. You can't undo this, so make sure you really want to do it:And that's it. The comment is gone. You don't even have to republish your profile.
The improvements to the comment deleting process is just the first of a bunch of changes the team is making to help simplify and improve the AIM Pages experience, so we'll keep you up to date as we go along.
Thanks -- Joe

I guess there isn't much fanfare to admit this isn't working either? All I now get is a "javascript void" note and I can't delete any messages, even when I try to do so in Advanced Mode. Wow..great job guys.

I am not getting the message asking me if I am sure whether or not I want to delete the comment? What do I do now?

I just posted a status update on the comment deletion problem in the AIM Pages blog's new home:
http://socialmedia.aim.com/20
It was working until a code change earlier ths month. The team will be working a fix into an upcoming install, but I don't know when that's going to be yet.
Thanks -- Joe (posted & mailed)
