Feeling Chillin'
Theo deserves credit....
I'm sure you've all heard this story by now, Theo Epstein is finished with the Red Sox. Reports have come out that Theo walked away from nearly 5 million dollars because he didn't think he had full power of the team. Well, Theo is a better man then me to walk away from all that money....
Theo Epstein truely felt that he didn't have control over the team, and he didn't think it was the right thing to take the contract. My dad is really good friends with Theo Epstein's mother, and my dad says that the Epsteins are people that were never concerned with money. I guess the Epstein traits have passed down to Theo. Anyway, Larry Lucchino certainly should be ashamed, as I mentioned in a previous entry about Theo, Larry should let Theo do his job. That obviously wasn't going to be the story, Epstein felt Larry was going to play an unwanted role in decisions this offseason. Let me say this, Theo Epstein is better then a lot of us, he walked away from millions of dollars because he thought it wasn't the right thing to do.
I now just want to ask Larry Lucchino one question, what are the Red Sox going to do now? We are entering the offseason with a general manager. People say Kevin Towers, some say Paul DePodesta, but I have one bold prediction. I think Larry Lucchino will end up being the GM for Boston. Another week or so, and Larry will say he is GM until they find a replacement. As we all know, the replacement won't come along and Larry will wind up building the team his way. Manny Ramirez will be traded, and the Sox will get just about zero value in return. I predict Damon will be resigned to an amount of money that he isn't worth. A big prospect or two will be traded away for an over the hill veteran. It looks like the Sox really are in trouble.....
That's our GM....

I think we should hold off judgement on the whole thing for a bit. Could there be more to the story?
