Feeling Quiet

.......but it still doesn't make me like it.

Y'all know we went to Mexico last weekend (? was it only that short of a time?)....... mainly to get Ryan's pictures taken.....but also at that time, Jesse's grandmother had gone into the hospital.  She had fainted at home, so they took her to the hospital to find that she had fluid in her lungs.  Her heart was also enlarged.  She was in ICU at the time, and in Mexico, they let nobody in to the ICU of the 'Social Security' hospitals - which are free government run hospitals.  (The doctors kept trying to tell us that the reason she had fluid on her lungs was because the family had been feeding her too many soups and liquids and the liquids had nowhere to go but her lungs.  ::blink::  What the hell, you freaking idiot doctors?!  See.....the doctors there prey on the fact that most of the people in that hospital are ignorant.  Yeah, not me, moron.  THEN, the doctors told the family that the reason they weren't allowed back in ICU was because they would rob oxygen from the other patients.  ::blink::  Uhhhhh.....they're all wearing oxygen masks, dimwit.  AURGH....

ANYWAY.....while we were down there, Grandma improved a bit to be able to be released to a room.  We had to leave on Wednesday, and luckily, Wednesday morning was when she was transferred...........so Jesse was able to see her.  They talked and joked.......which I am so thankful for.  That afternoon we left to come home.

From then til now has been a roller coaster ride for her because the family had transferred her to a private hospital and back again......they've been advised of lawsuits they need to bring against the government hospital.......the whole family has been taking shifts to make sure someone is at the hospital at all times.

But, yesterday, around noon, she decided enough was enough, I guess.  Mass and funerals are quick down in Mexico, so we won't be able to go.  Say a prayer around 3 this afternoon for her, okay?

Feeling Embarrassed

Last night, as I went to bed.....I did my usual routine.

Go pee, brush out hair, wash face, turn off light in bathroom.

Walk into dark bedroom.....

Trip over very large dog.....

....fall forward as dog comes up.....

........sport a very large bruise on chest.

Pictures will not be forthcoming.

I need a nightlight in that damn bedroom.

Feeling Happy

Okay........I had an entry all typed out and I don't know what happened.  FFFFFFFFFFFFF%^&*&^%#$(........

Anyway, the Migra let me back into the country.

"Are you all U.S. Citizens?"

Duh, dude.

"Do you have anything to declare?"

"Uhhhhhhh........what? 

::thinks:: "Declare.  Hmmm.....can you use that word in a sentence?  That's a nice hat you're wearing....."

"What was your business in Mexico?"

::thinks:: "What's YOUR business in Mexico?!"

"Pictures.....and visiting our abuelita....she's sick...."

"Okay.....did you buy anything while you were there?"

OMG.....seriously.....go bother the suspicious looking vatos behind us, okay??!?!?

What did we BUY over there?  Tacos.  Hamburgers.  All made by homies on the side of the road.  Yeah, that's right.  We ate it and we didn't die.  Life on the wild side, baby!!!

Feeling Chillin'

Because I am procrastinating my suitcase packing duties.....and because it feels fabulous to sit here with the door open while crazy wind is blowing....I thought 'why not make an entry with all those pictures I was talking about......'

The pictures are all from one day, so you can imagine how exhausted I was by the end of the day.  First we went to The Lord's Kitchen.  It's a little burger dive, but holy moly...SO.  Good.

Then, we were going to The Tower Of The Americas, but they had closed it off and were having a party.  The hell?  Whatever.  So we went to the Institute Of Texan Cultures (hee hee...I know you love that, Russ).....and thennnnnn to a carnival for Fiesta Week.

Feeling Chillin'

I....currently have a piercing throbbing pain in my head.  I'm pretty sure it's not related to my current load of stress, but whatever.

Couple days ago, we went to the most amazing burger joint, then the Institute of Texan Cultures, and then a carnival for Fiesta Week.  BUT....since Ryan hasn't loaded the pictuers for me and I don't know how, we'll just have to wait for pictures until next week.

Why next week?  Because we're going to Mexico.  We've finally scored a sitting to get Ryan's quinceanera pictures taken.  (see here: Quinceañera - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for more info)  It's taken some doing to get everything together, but finally.....woohoo.  We got the dress, jewelry, nails done, shoes, etc.....I know she's a little past age 15, but I work with what I have.....heh...

Anyway.....back on Wednesday/Thursday - hopefully with stories and more pictures.......
