Hearing Hubby watching OCC!

Are the stars out of alignment?

I am trying to figure out what is going on with the world.....many of my friends are going through some really trying times.

1.  There is the family who's youngest daughter has just been diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia.  They live in Missouri.  I have known that kid's parents since they were young.  They have all been tested and none of them are a match for a Bone Marrow Transplant.  I have agreed to be tested...now I just need to go and do it.  They are very spiritual and God and prayer are helping them to deal with this situation in their life.

2.  Another family has is pregnant with their 3rd child.  They have 2 daughters now and have found out that this 3rd child is also a daughter.  Trying time? Well, they had genetic testing done and found out that their daughter has Edward's Syndrome which has some physical and mental implications.  They, too, are a very spiritual family and God and prayer will also help them through their trying times.

3.  Tonight I heard about an old friend (since 3rd grade!). She and her husband were on their motorcycle (with their helmets on) and were hit by a drunk driver.  They hit the road and while the wife was on the highway, a truck ran over here.  It happened about 3 weeks ago and they are both in rehab and fighting for their lives.  They are also a spiritual family and God and prayer will help them through this.

4. My friend Katherine lost her mother. She went into the hospital for heart surgery, had complications and eventually the family had to make a tough decision.  Her mom was only 51.

5.  Mr. Williams passed away.  He was a friend of my family and every time I went home to Jax, I would see him and although I've been gone almost 15 years, he always remembered me, hugged me, and treated me like family.  RIP Mr. Williams.

I really thought that 2008 was going to be a better year.  Sometimes though, when you see your friends going through trying times...it makes you look at your own life.  When you are stressed, you have to remember to keep things in perspective.

Please keep my friends in your prayers.

My mom always says, and now so do I, that no matter how bad things may seem, they could always have been worse so to be thankful that they aren't.
Looking at the curves life throws me that way has made the difference between sanity and just totally losing it.  Sometimes I don't want to be positive but after a short pity party I will regroup and realize that yes, it really could have been worse, and I know that I am truly blessed.
Your friends have some very large obstacles.  I hope their faith will help them through them.  Take care Angle with a Big Heart.

When it seems like the lives of my friends are all falling apart, I look at "problems" in my own life and realize they really aren't that big a deal. I feel lucky and blessed and somehow reminded not to take my good fortune for granted. It could vanish at any time.
