Updates to the AOL Pictures viewer

Viewing Pictures in Member Directory and Journals Gets Better

We are working to make the viewers for Pictures better.  What are the viewers?  Well, when you insert pictures into AOL Journals or create a profile in Member Directory the pictures are displayed  in a viewer that allows you to go through the album, see captions and view larger.

Today we made an update - when you “View Larger” you will be taken to a slideshow, allowing you to go back and forth in the album, and view the hi-res pictures.     Click on “View Larger” above to see the slideshow.

We’ve got more work to do here. Some of our ideas include displaying pictures in filmstrips,  slideshows or just inline in the journal… more on that later.

Hope you like this update!

Nice improvement. Slide show is fast and a lot more responsive in Firefox compared to the old. I have to ask, what are the names of those cool cats?

We do spend time with customers and users when we make changes, and design the new features.  We had very good feedback on this feature.       I am not sure if you know how we work and the process, but we do pretty detailed user studys when we make changes.

With that background, is it possible to give me some specific feedback on what you don't like ? Email me at shareyourphotos @ aim . com  and I will follow up.

    New Update Is CRAP,

Who wants to set through a stupid slideshow when it is faster to pick out a picture and click on it to enlarge it. Why does Aol keep upgrading(IT'S ALWAYS A DOWNGRADE) there network? Why not leave things alone for once! Me and my friends dont want to have to set through a God AWFUL SLIDESHOW to see our pictures. You people are going to loose all of you're customers Aol if you keep on DOWNGRADING you're network. Why not leave things alone or ask you're customers what they want--New Upgrade with slideshow IS CRAPPY!
