New Feature Updates Just Launched
On Wednesday, we launched a series of updates!
1. New and Improved Print Store
We have a new and fresh look to our print store, and we have a new low prints price at 15 cents per 4*6 print. We have many new prints merchandise coming soon too. Check it out!
2. New Upload
We all know uploading photos to the Web is simply tough, and we have made some improvements to help you. First, we changed the look of the upload page so its even simpler to select which photos you want to upload.
Second, now you can begin managing your photos while your photos are uploading - instead of waiting until all your photos upload! You can now make better use of your time, and this is one of my favorite features!
3. Number of Views
Ever want to know how many people have viewed a photo in your public gallery? Many have requested this feature - the ability to see which of their photos are more popular compared to others. Well, here you go!
4. Comment Icons
We've added some additional flavor to the comments section in your public gallery by adding your AIM buddy icon next to your screen name whenever you comment on a photo!
5. Share and Download the Full Size Photo
Now you can easily share your full size photo with your family and friends, and if they want to download it, they can do it! Simply click on the 'View Larger' link above the photo in the public gallery, and from there, you can download the original resolution photo.
6. Live in Spain, or Italy? Speak their mother tongue?
If you don't want to use the English version of AOL Pictures, you now have 2 additional choices :-)
Let us know which features you like (and dislike)! I will relay this information to the full team, and they will be especially happy to hear any good feedback after all the hard work they have put into these new features.

Maybe its just me, Maybe I dont like new things... I dont know but I have to say the new photo stuff in AOL journals is terrible... if you want to add "new" things why can't you keep a version of the old with the new? I loved being able to put captions at the bottom of photos... Allowing my visitors to turn the pages at their own pace... Can not do that now! Now all you can get is a streaming slideshow that doesn't show the part in the photo you want! Or an aweful looking collage... Who designed that collage? or a few other absolutly ugly other options... How about giving a few more options or something... Have you seen them?

ONE FEATURE THAT NEEDS CHANGE BADLY...TAGS. When a new viewer opens up the gallery and sees the same tags time and again, the viewer might lose interest, especially if the viewer is so regimented that he or she uses tags only for selected viewing. Manyof the tags are personal, some name that discourages other photographers from linking up with because they belong to, for example, DONUT-E-MY-GIRL-SUZ...OR SOMETHING WEIRD. That's fine, but please use some new and different ones on a regular basis. How many times will the public continue to click on a highly personalized tag? If the policy is to leave these personalized tags on the screen forevermore, ok, but let's add to them continually. Perhaps, changing the tags as the tags are typed in--the way you did in the beginning--would introduce viewers to more galleries. As far at the public galleries category is concerned, it seems like a gallery gets a one-time run and that's it. Some of the galleries have no tags whatsoever. I feel sorry for those folks because they might have an excellent photo that goes for months without being viewed. A few months ago, when the gallery seemed to come to a standstill, you guys posted some FANTASTIC SHOTS YOU HAD TAKEN THROUGHOUT THE USA AND THE WORLD...and added tags, a kind of a hint to others to latch onto them and ride them to success. Some folks caught on...others didn't. Whatever, lets have a return to your PUBLIC GALLERY PHOTOS....THEY WERE CLASS PHOTOS...and more revolving tags. Other than these few comments about changing the gallery, it is one great contribution to viewers and especially those of us who consider ourselves to be either artist, photographers, or just guys and gals having fun sharing images with other viewers. Thanks for your creative genius in setting up the galleries, they are, in my opinion, the best on the internet. Thanks, Robert
