Dog Takes Itself to E.R.

Picture from Hometown

Near Los Angeles, a dog that had been missing for days -- and had likely been hit by a car -- dragged itself into an emergency room and refused to leave. Thanks to a microchip, the dog was reunited with its owner. Our tails are wagging in happiness. Anyone else's?

We had a dog with the same injury... but it wasn't from a car wreck.  The cost of the procedure was under a $1000.00.

Animals are truly gifts to us, and, unfortunately, some people abuse these gifts.  Thank goodness they are smart and have instincts that go far beyond our understanding.  Perhaps this dog was drawn to the hospital by his expert sense of smell; antiseptics, bandages, etc.  I prefer to believe he was drawn by his sense of caring and concern among the people there.  I'm curious where he was for two weeks?  I'm so glad the owner was wise enough to have had a microchip placed in his precious dog-I recommend it to ALL pet owners.  After a long career as a nurse, I switched gears and went into the pet industry.  I met many pet owners who were heartbroken when thier little Muffy or Duke disappeared, and they had no I.D. on them.  Those with the microchip had a much better chance of reuniting with their loved ones. Just a crazy animal lover in FL

Buddy is truly a gaurdian angel and this time he had to take care of himself! That's why dog is God spelled backward!
As for whoever hit him...once I hit a dog, he just bolted out in front of my car from behind a bush and he got so scared he ran away.  I looked for him all over but, he was afraid of my car. I never located him.  I only hoped that he went home or someone found him to give him the proper medical care.  I reported the accident, but didn't know what else to do, so be so hard on whoever might have hit him, they might not have been able to catch him or get help.  I'm happy he found a way to make himself heard.  Dog's are much wiser than given credit for!

I cant believe that there arent more laws protecting animals from horrible people. They say that how a human acts towards animals is a sign of how they act towards others. I am a dog owner myself and want to hopefully some day get stricter laws enforced on these heartless and cruel people

It breaks my heart to hear what rotten humans are capable of.
Dogs are wonderful and deserve the best. I hope the pup is healing and happy at home. He looks so sad in the pic. :(
