A Look at Barbaro

Picture from Hometown

It's Breeder's Cup weekend, so all eyes will be on the ponies -- but the biggest story of the year remains Barbaro, who suffered multiple leg fractures during the open stretch of the Preakness back in May. Here's an encouraging update on his recovery.

Thankfully this wonderful young horse did not become another Ruffian nightmare. What wonderful owners! How refreshing,  their horse meant more to them than the insurance money!!!! I think they should get our support ! Shelley Roberts

To the the individual who made a comment in regards to my comment below. Nice slant...you, of course, totally ignored my comment because you have an ax to grind. People are more important than animals any day of the week....until needy people are truly addressed, I do not care about the "news" that a horse is doing great. Lets talk about those who cannot afford a decent meal in the city the horse received all this care. I recommend yoiu study critical thinking and read my post before you respond in lame fashion. Stop being a sheep to the "politically correct" machine!!

To those two negative individuals that commented about Barbaro:

Every living creature on this earth has been put here for a reason and deserves some respect and concern with regard to how mankind treats it.  Barbaro deserves all the care he gets from the doctors, etc. because it was man who created horse racing for one's own pleasure.  We should assume the responsibility of our actions and have love in our hearts when faced with adversity.  Way to go Barbaro...We're all rooting for you.

Bernardini is awesome.  Barbaro can be driven around by a carnie for the rest of his life for all I care.

People are more important..bottom line. Barbaro is a nice horse, but if I saw hungry kids, and old Barbaro was all there was, it would be horseburgers for all. There are too many people in the world who need help, to make the woes of a horse important.
