COnfessions of a MAD Antique Dealer

I just saw a video that made be tear....not SAD, but it was so filled with pure love...it triggered my tear ducts, into a mini salt water fall.... I couldn't figure out how to put a link to it on YOU TUBE>..but I will follow up when I find out.

 HERE GOES.  First you read that these two men had a pet baby lion in LONDON.....not the best place to raise a lion......and they were forced to get rid of her. Well they brought her to a sanctuary in Africa...and left her...they came back some years later to try and find her...visit....they were told that she will not remember them..well, they went out and called her old name....and she came running to both guys....and you  never have seen a happier lioness...she jumped up and put her paws on each guy going back and forth giving hugs and kisses...Her expression was pure happiness and joy.....its hard to believe this is a wild animal....the kind t hey would shoot for trophies......that the bond with these two men, was not to be believed....

When you think of animals..and compare them to mankind.....there is one major difference. Animals live to eat,rest, procreate..and maybe lay in the sun absorbing its warmth....enjoy motherhood and some animals enjoy fatherhood.......But mankind, has created a need for possessions, it has developed the need of knowledge to be fulfilled, and when there are no answers, it invents them. This invention is usually called religion..and this religion and false ideology, mixed with the need for possessions and greed, is the major cause for warfare, which no group of animals have. They fight over territory, food and mates.  Animals far more civilized than man from my perspective!

You see a photo of my 24foot GMC truck.....on its last  ride.....I schmeared out the NAME of GRANNYS ATTIC...and address and some of the art....which was painted by my friend MArtin from Amsterdam...in 1998. We all said good bye.....it is the end of an era....sad, but then again, its the beginning of a new era.....The photo of modern art beneath the truck photo....is not an ORIGINAL Pollock...., but an original MAURY LUBMAN. Not a painting..but a culture created by a large can of tomato sauce..left open in the fridge for about a month. When the color, shape and form looked right..I snapped the photo.

OK..... I know that I havent had any new recipes in a long time....they usually develope when I go shopping.......and stroll through the aisles and get ideas. Last night I bought a "tube" of precooked POLENTA with sun dried tomatoes in it"   Polenta, for those of you that do not know ITALIAN peasant cusine...is cornmeal cooked into a consistency, that can be cut,sliced and fried....  Romanians make it too, and call it mamaliga...but its served mushy like thick oatmeal or mashed potatoes.

I sliced the tube of polenta into 3/4inch slices...and fried them in extra virgin olive oil. Drained them on brown paper and put them into a soup bowl. Put a spoon full of sour cream over each one, sprinkle generously with dried Parmesan cheese, some shredded mozzarella, and your choice of tomato sauce" You can use a prepared jarred Putenesca, Vodka,Mushroom, meat sauce, etc....then...put in the microwave for a min or two.....I added a hit of salt, ground fresh black pepper, and a hint of garlic powder.It was delicious. Try...very thin sliced. Pepperoni, sausage, any cold cut imaginable,shrimp,turkey ,chicken,any kind of meat...or veggies...like Spinach, Broccoli sauteed veggies like eggplant...etc.

OPTIONS: are unlimited.  Add" olives,capers, red roasted peppers,be creative and try anything your heart desires....You can use this as a veggie or a main dish.
