hILLARY & EDWARDS ON tv,wALT wHITMAN
Nothing very special passed thru my store or my moo today, although the weather couldn't have been more perfect, and the beauty of the flowering trees made life a living palette......and I bemoaned my fate to be stuck in a warehouse, without enough windows, as the world revolves on the outside, and I am missing Springs most magnificent days. Inside I do not see and absorb nature. I do not smell the fragrance of the flowers perfume, nor the green grasses sweetness, or hear the return of the birds and their mating chirps and happy sounds, nor feel the breeze upon my cheeks. Days like this a feel like a prisoner, of my own der....with no one to blame but myself.
Tonight, I enjoyed watching the COLBET show...Hillary Clinton was a surprise guest, an the second surprise was John Edwards....both live, and both making fun of themselves and the elections. Obama was there by a remote TV......all three were there, and were FUNNY, and human and enjoyable.
I started reading about Walter Whitman.....I NEW he wrote the famous book, LEAVES OF GRASS, but I didn't know, like me, he kept revising and adding poems in it until he died. His cover they said, was also an etched bust of a person and mine is one of a phrenology head. Walter and I both have beards, and we both wrote a poem about a spider...and Ihad the audacity to think I was the first person to write a serious poem about one of those....Walter was the first to really pursue a free verse type of poetry....lines that were not equal in rhyme or length.... And this is a style I developed myself also.Walter lived in NJ.....he was anti war...he didn't drink very much, and he wrote about Temperance......I do not drink very much, but my attitude towards drink is: in moderation its ok...but to drink to excess is NO GOOD>..he like to write about society as I do, but his style of writing was much more dramatic and more difficult to read and absorb, but he felt he was writing for the people, to teach them about his theories of what is right and wrong...and that is the purpose also I my writings and to make people think...and his attitude for religions in a way is similar to mine..he believed that all regions were acceptable and he didnt belong to any one of them..He was a deist...believed in GOD, but not a member of any formal religion... I, on the other hand thing all religions are ridiculous...for look what it has done to people, history and the world. But I am not a deist, but a JEWISH ATHEIST(thank GOD) If people ask, I will say I am JEWISH. I like the traditions, the history, t he holidays and the food..and of course TRADITION....but I do not accept all the ho cus Po cus that we find in the bible. The people, who never lived, the waters that never parted, the bush that never burned....
