One for St. Patrick's Day

Here's one for St. Patrick's Day... I have a couple more about 1/2 done... can't quite satisfy myself. I thought this one was o.k. if a little on the simple side.

Baby Elephant w/Rose

Horton Hears a Who quote

I finally got around to trying another tag. If anyone wanders over here, I hope they like it!

The baby elephant and the rose were tubes... The rest was me playing with PSP. I always liked this quote from Horton Hears a Who... And Dr. Seuss is a favorite of mine!

My very first 'Tag'

I've always been fascinated at the beautiful tags that people like Donna over at This and That and Hockey and Chris over at Cab's Creations and lots of others do using Paint Shop Pro and a little imagination. They are so cute, imaginative, and artistic. I understood that they were created with graphics called 'tubes' and that a lot of them existed and that Paint Shop Pro was a great program but...... I just never got around to trying some of the 'tutorials' that existed.

Why? Because I mostly take photos and post them on my main Journal here and at my mirror site over on Blogger and because I worked with photos I tended to be a Photoshop snob <g>. I owned a version of PaintShopPro (#7) and had even had it installed on my old laptop because it was the graphics program I used for photos before Photoshop came out with a cheaper version called Elements. (Hey, even a snob will balk at a $700!) But all I'd ever done was crop/fix/save my photos. Of course I had played with the tubes included with the program, but they aren't anything like what these guys call 'tubes'!

Since I wanted to try this I thought I should load up PSP7 on the new laptop, go out and find a tube, and then make my first 'tag'. I read one tutorial that told how to put the tube in the program, ran the tutorials that came with the program and made my first graphic that you see below. I figured with V-Day a couple of days away that I would do a tag for that. Now I'mgoing to go out and find some tutorials for 'fancier' things, but I wanted to have an idea of where I started from so I could see my progress <g>. Notice that I don't have any glitter or animation yet. This is very simple, and I know I probably didn't do it 'right', but now I've officially started! AND I'll be able to see progress from this first stumbling step <LOL>!

If anyone actually comes by here and wants this pitiful first attempt, have at it! And if you have a favorite site for getting tubes, or someplace with killer tutorials, please, please, please drop a link in comments!  Also, if you have a tag journal that I might not have seen... drop that link in the comments also! Always love seeing others work!

So what can you expect to find here?? That's a good question! I plan to play around in both programs (PSP7 & PE4) and try to do some more 'artistic' things than I've been doing. I'll save the straight up photography for my main Journal, and I'll put my 'experiments' over here!
