Monster car assembly of my 69 GTS Clonvertible

I started this project back in april of 2004 after seeing it at a car show, and the guy I bought it from was practically giving it away, so I had to look at it in person.

I ended up scrambling to get the money the next day and loading it up onto a car trailer I rented and driving it home to Arizona were it is my weekend project on getting it put together. The guy who sold it to me (Doug) had all the body and paint work 99% complete and then lost interest in the project were it sat for about 5 years in his garage. This car is actually a 1967 Dodge Dart GT convertible, but Doug started the cloning process to turn it into a 1969 Dodge Dart Convertible GTS with a 440 sixpack, 4-speed, 8 3/4 rearend, magnum 500 wheels, large bolt pattern, bucket seat console car with an original console tach, He also had the body guy put in a modern style gas door. Doug added alot of rare parts onto this car for instance the leaf springs are the correct ones for a Dart GTS from the factory. Most all the parts are refurbished originals from original 67 68 and 69 BIG BLOCK DARTS or BARRACUDA'S the 440 rb block is from a 73 Chrysler New Yorker and from what I was told was rebuilt with a mild cam a steel crank and bored 30 over, it has loads of power behind it and I can roast the tires from gear to gear without even trying.

When I drive this Muscle car of mine I have a grin from ear to ear and I can't stop from smiling because I'm having so much fun driving it.

I have 2 more to restore a 67 Dart GT Convertible and a 68 Dart GT 2 door Hard Top, I really want to turn the 68 into a HEMI clone one of these days.

IT'S ALL DONE KNOW, BUT NOTHING IS EVER DONE, WHEN YOUR STILL ROAST'N THE TIRES TO MAKE THEM SOFT AND STICKY, ESPECIALLY MOPAR MUSCLE.
