Obama, after visiting the Western Wall in Jerusalem, arrived in Berlin, at the ‘center of the world’, toured the Brandenburg Gate, told a crowd of 200K people to tear down the walls between continents;, he is a man at ease with presidents & premiers; Pentagon top priority is shifting to AFG; McCain said it is clear that the ‘surge’ is working; Iran will not obtain nuclear weapons; mixed foreign markets; shall the geeks inherit the Earth;?; Iraq banned from Beijing Olympics because of ‘political interference’, restore the original crew; oil at $125.94 per barrel; NASA astronaut believes in UFOs & aliens; Obama buys an Olympic ad; Northern Lights caused by magnetic explosions, 1/3 of the distance from the Earth to the Moon;

7/23-08: fortify your insides  

            68º in ABQ; 78% humidity at 6A…Brad goes in for blood work; last night, weather bulletin, flood warnings on the radio; overnight rain at The Beach; see ‘detailed storm report’; murderer of girlfriend has gone from CA to NM to MX;  restaurant saw water keep rising; Belen is flooded; downpours caused wall to collapse in structure; Moderate Air Quality: Code Yellow, for Ozone; another day, another downpour;  nice’ rain last night; men helping other men whose vehicles got stuck in the mud; three political debates between Udall & Pearce; will be held before Election Day; dog shot & killed while inside a Rio Rancho yard; parts of NM had up to six inches of rain in the last three weeks; AARP say Santa Fe is one of the healthiest places to retire; Brad made delicious Broccoli Soup; church robbery foiled when a speaker fell on one of the burglar’s head; sinkhole formed on Broadway; S Valley streets were shut down, including ramps to & from I-25; ABQ is now above AVG in rainfall, ¾ above normal, an inch of rain during a short period of time, some saw quarter inch hail; most storms moving slowly; road blockers on the side of the frontage roads; the AVG price of gas in ABQ is $3.92: in NM, $4.03; last night, the SunPort had an inch of rain: a spotty monsoon season; NM has had twelve days in a row of rain, the third longeststretch, but dry in some counties; flights from the Duke City to Farmington are now on hold; Brad bought fish oil pills, per doctor’s request; Dolly could affect NM this weekend; Brad has some body aches;  

            temps from 70s to 100s; Weather Channel mentioned Four Corners moisture; rain: along I-80, from NY to PA, NYC, tornado warnings in NY & TX; wet Hudson River Valley, the Adirondacks, Catskills & Pocono MTN; I-87, I-88, NY Thruway; S FL, I-4 & I-95 in FL; in early AM, Hurricane Dolly has slowed down, moving at 8 mph; had not made landfall, but rough surf, plenty of rain, ten inches expected in the Rio Grande Valley, TS winds, but no mandatory evacuation orders [so far] and power outages along the S tip of TX, 85 mph winds, inches of rain along I-37; T’storms also put 30K in the dark across ATL; good for Home Depot business; Dolly is a CAT 2 hurricane, winds reaching 100 mph; spawning twisters, rain bands to Louisiana, could affect the SW US this weekend; slowly moving; have a sign on the TX coast saying ‘Hello, Dolly!’; struck TX during the PM , winds decreased to 95 mph; a tornado formed with the city limits of Corpus Christi; so far, levees are holding along the lower Rio Grande; Brownsville, a city of 140K people, was hit by Dolly;

7/22-08: spark family fun  

            70º in ABQ; 68% humidity at 6A…Brad’s doctor visit; Nancy’s B’day, we gave her a dual CD set of ‘favorite music’; Code Yellow: Moderate Air Quality, because of Ozone; S Valley had an inch of rain, more is possible today; another bear sighting, two within two days, rummaging through garbage in the NE Heights, bears walking down the streets; Planned Parenthood attacked again in Farmington; another robbery in NE Duke City, using a rifle & police uniform; which road projects will be built by the $5 million in the FED grants allocated to NM; Belen is Spanish for ‘Bethlehem’; long gas lines vs. low gas prices; now, August 15 is the NM Legislative Special Session date; $16 million of Native American Equipment cannot be accounted for, including a computer with names, Social Security Numbers & medical info of 800 workers; drunk driver swerved to the other side of the road, crashed into car carrying two teens, resulting in severe injuries; then fled the scene, but later turned himself in; Brad’s doctor visit was OK, could be low in B-12; more blood work tomorrow, too low cholesterol level, perhaps a new medication; NATL accolades for Sandia Casino Resort; Internet been temporarily restored to Navajo Nation; need portable glass cleaner; men posing as police guilty of home invasions; a reasonable utility bill; Roswell teen is killed by bullets fired into his bedroom; burglaries are down in Santa Fe; 

Coders’ training class at 10A; Kay did a good job; got a smile from Dr. Waldman; yesterday, two bottles of my milk were sour; our original MGR not on the list to talk with Candace; cannot find Sleep Study forms, ordered 100 more; at the end of the day, I found a Sleep Study form; scheduled meeting with Candace for tomorrow at 1P; downtown detour of AM R/R; saw remains of campus rain; did JoAnn look at our salary increases; people keep asking how long I’ve worked for UNMMG; Myrna is the bargain hunter; Jenny is trying to quit smoking;

            65º in ABQ; 78% humidity at 6A… Brad bought a tasty melon; go to bed early tonight!; McCain Town Hall Meeting today in ABQ, give people a chance to ask question a small gathering; GAQ; the two main factors, handshakes & votes; postman accused of sexually ‘playing’ with little girls; counterfeit cash found in cancer child fundraiser, saved by a lemonade stand, that raised $87; dead body found in Santa Fe arroyo; salmonella outbreak in Portales restaurant; NM does not have a helmet law, neither do most states; start of KOAT ‘school supply drive’; Whites City has been sold; man killed after repairing an ATV, and presented the bill; three homeless people killed by rockslide near Gallup; ‘voluntary’ four day work week; Duke City summer truck sales slumping; all seats filled at McCain’s meeting; because of the oil boom, finding a job in Atresia isn’t hard: finding a home in that town, is: has a law enforcement training CTR, and an industrial park, the town is facing traffic problems; attendance a key factor in deciding who is eligible for a four day work week; Brad prepared a delicious; Vichyssoise; NM city, at the entrance to Carlsbad Caverns, bought for $1.5 million; Santa Fe, the INTL City; El Camino Real, older than the NM territory; AM panic attack; Rio Rancho mother offering her teenage girl for sex, in order to pay the rent; silent McCain protesters, outside the town hall meeting;
