MORNING PRAYER

Heavenly Father,
So many people are crying these days, their hearts overwhelmed with the condition of the world, their relationships, their trials. The Hope that once shone so bright in their hearts is fading. They cry out for a miracle. But Father, you gave us a miracle, Jesus Christ; the one, who overcame the world, the One who promised to remain beside us; promised that we would never be left to cope with our problems alone, and He kept that promise. He is the
Good Shepherd, the GOD of All comfort.

It says in Isaiah 40: 1, 2, "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God...."
   Help me then, Gracious Father, to not let my trials get the best of me. Grant me the ability to rise above them, to view them through Your eyes, so that when I am confronted with hurting people, I can comfort as You comfort me; not scolding or shaming, not judging or criticizing, but uplifting, encouraging, motivating.
   Guide my feet, so they remain upon the right path, my eyes, so they see clearly, my heart, so that pride does not lift me up, my words, so that others may be blessed and comforted, so that they may know that peace that is not of this world; Your promised peace- that peace that hold a man steady when life's storms are raging against him.
    Bless, Gracious Father, those I love. You know their sorrows, the burdens they carry, their worries and fears. Bless too, those who read this entry:
Those who are without hope, who are lost, and without friends;
Those in the armed forces:
Those mentoring our children:
Those tending the sick, and those feeding the poor:
Those whose children have been kidnapped, or disappeared:
Those whose courage is weakening;
Those who love You, and those who don't;
Those who are leaders of our country:
Those who are teaching others about You;
Those in abusive relationships;
Those addicted to drugs and alcohol;
Those suffering from debilitating diseases;
Those who have lost loved ones:
Those who are suffering because of natural disasters;
Those bearing the burdens of others:
Those who will receive bad news today:
Those who are getting a divorce:
Those who feel misplaced, and unworthy of your love:
Those who have erred and are afraid to come to You.
 I ask these things in Jesus' precious name. Amen

    I just thought perhaps you might be interested in this letter:

                                 A Letter to my Father

    Dear Heavenly Father,
         I am writing to you on this occasion to let you know that I am tired, exhausted, worn out from the battle within.  I can go on no further.  The weight of my pathetic armor, carved from the bark of anger and bitterness, is a burden I can no longer bear.  I need to rest, put down my swords of frustration and disappointment, and heal my self-inflicted wounds.
         By my own means I have lost my sight with daggers of doubt and uncertainty which pierce through my mind.  I can’t even remember my likeness.  Experience has distorted my body scarring it with the puncturing arrows of loneliness, difference, and despair.  My weariness is evident in the core of my self where a fractured spirit lies buried beneath the cold razor sharp questions of understanding.
         So I write to you my Father, not for understanding, not even for relief from the wretchedness of my existence but simply to thank you.  To thank you for the pain which you have allowed me to endure, to thank you for my weak and tired body because now I realize I have no control.  Now I realize I must surrender.  And now I realize my destiny is your choice.  So do with me as you may and I will lovingly obey.
    Your loving son

    I am praying this prayer right along with you Barb.  I like the face of Jesus on this entry.  So calming.  He has those eyes... they speak love and comfort and peace.
    Hugs,
    Lisa

    Oh, dear Lord, how I pray that many who are hurting and alone without You in their lives will open that door to their heart and let You come in!!  It breaks my heart to think of those going through the trials and storms of life without your compassionate Holy Spirit within to guide, help, heal, comfort them.  Amen.
