The world is a strange place or is it just me?
Reading the top news on AOL has me in shock and disgust. McWendy's ? Are the crazy? Why take a good burger and turn it into trash? Sorry, not a fan of McDonalds since they started cutting cost years ago. Won't even make you sick by telling you about their meat substitutes and melt in your hand cheese. When my grand kids wanted to go there, I refused telling them I'll take them out to some real food. They used to look at me strange until they grew up and realized that I saved them from a world of garbage can food. I think it was 1969 when we used to go there and get food. Back then before they cut costs and raised prices. When their food started tasting yucky and I stopped going there. My friends and I would go there and the only food left to eat was the fish sandwich and the fries. When they tampered with those it was good bye to me. My wife was shocked when I told her the only thing McDonalds was good for was a pit stop to go to the bathroom.
What is with these places? KFC and AW? Pizza Hut and TacoBell? You do know that the product suffers when you cram to many things for the younger generation to do in a fast food restaurant? It's a pain for them to even count back change! God, if the Cash Register doesn't tell them how much to give back they'd be lost. This is the new age? People, we have lost something and it's not a good thing.

I hear ya. Once they took the filet-o-fish and put it in the microwave, I also said goodbye. HOWEVER, I still allow my kid to eat there. And once in a while, I steal a once-upon-a-time-best-french-
fry-ever, and realize that food is just gross. I haen't had a decent bite of anything there for quite some time. Too bad. That was the "treat" my dad would allow us, every two weeks on payday. Grocery store, then McDonald's. Glad that at least the memory is still good...J -
Ditto.....it is sad that the kids can't count back change...sadder when they look at you funny cause you give them $11.32 for a $6.32 meal just to get a $5 back...they get sooooooooo confused....they've even given me back the dollar.
Gripes.........these are our future leaders too.
McWendyBell's. Now there's a hit! -
I agree Lanny. They are also not being trained in good customer service. I pulled up to a drive up window the other day to get a salad. The gal had already told me what my total was via the scratchy curb side speaker. I handed her my money, she handed me my salad and change and all the time she was laughing and talking with a co-worker. She never said "thank you, kiss my ____" Nothing! I was furious and was going to go home and call the manager but decided why waste my breath. Who know's maybe the one she was laughing & talking with was the manager. It's a whole new world for those of us who are getting older and expect better than what we're getting. Linda up here on the hill in Lakewood. http://journals.aol.com/lsfp1
