The only recent press coverage of USC's football I've noticed had to do with losing to a weaker (?) team, and which major venue will they occupy next year: the Rose Bowl, or the downtown Coliseum? The only USC football player whose name I remember is OJ Simpson, and he is most likely a murderer.
In the greater LA area having gone to USC probably confers some advantage in business. I wonder if any members of the New England Patriots NFL football team went to USC? What percentage of NFL teams in 2007/8 went to any college? DID OJ graduate?
Can it convincingly be argued that there is more Sportsmanship in the NBA than there is in the NFL? Why is Professional Ice Hockey tolerated? By any standard of sportsmanship Ice Hockey is anathema.
Lately the Australian cricket team has disgraced itself, but has not received much heat, for upsetting opponents with dirty talk, cracks for example about the fidelity of opponent's wives. The Indian team, I believe, came unglued when made such a target. "Cricket" used to be a synonym for Sportsmanship.
I won't be watching the New England Patriots next year.
And I'm totally disinterested in anything whatsoever that goes on with USC. I'm proud to be able to say I've never met anyone who went to USC. I'm proud, also, that Coach Wooden of UCLA taught Sportsmanship.
Trolls are the quintessential bad sport. I have a hunch It's a bit harder to exhibit poor sportsmanship at Wimbledon than it is in the NFL. Ice Hockey will probably never be played in England. Just a guess.
