I've added the AIM toolbar to my DreamHost homepage
 but it always shows me online, even when I'm not. How's that for dead useless?!

Is this from bentrem or tremben? My "Online" indicator is always always always wonkie/wrong.

NB: I blogged this from AIM ... couldn't add Subject/Title, let alone Mood or Music. Lame!

All About Me

I was first "online" in 1972, doing what was then called "communications research" ... military intelligence, actually ... pretty neat, real-time comms with operators around the world! And then "online" in a way again in 1974, working with the phone company, in Edmonton and in the Arctic ... using teletype circuits to stay in touch with co-workers.

How about this: in 1979 we had a terminal in our basement as part of the contract we were working on ... playing StarTrek on a mainframe 15 years before WWW!

Right now I'm looking for tech_docs contract work ... something I can do from home.
