What's Up?
Yesterday we practiced cutting mats. What a job! Finally, I think we have it figured out.
Am feeling somewhat better...it has taken over two months.
Today I will be framing and getting images ready for gallery delivery.
My "To Do" List is growing:
Write gallery owners about digital images
Print
Frame
Work on story
Get layout program and work on book
Making decisions is always a challenge. Some of the debatable issues have been:
Q. To do a series, or not?
A. Decision: Not, each image receives my total attention from beginning to end and each is unique. Instead, I will sign each image before framing. What I do is not a production line.
Q. To go back to using film, or create digital images?
A. I love digital. Using a digital camera and Photoshop means I can take the picture and develop it exactly to my specifications. No more submitting specs to a lab. This is wonderful. Why would I want to use film again? I can't think of any reason other than some galleries only want silver gelatin images done as a series, signed and numbered. Note: Soon these galleries will realize that change is happening and what was is evolving into something new and exciting.

Miracles happen around here all the time. It seems whenever I want something it shows up. Sometimes this process is instantaneous and sometimes the process takes a while.
The other day I found two old prints, hiding behind some framed pieces in storage. When I went to ebay, I found a book of these prints for sale. Amazing! The prints are from a book of drawings, originally by Hans Holbein, printed in 1812. Although I couldn't afford to buy the book, the information I was searching for was there.
The only reason I mention this is because it is important to be thankful every day. We need to be grateful for what we have and not be concerned about what we have not. Being grateful seems to open the doors leading to what we want.
Remember: You are good enough. You can do anything you set your mind to. Set a goal, then go for it. Surprise yourself...see what happens. Trust in the process and keep going..
