The Mystery
"I would rather live in a world where my life is surrounded by mystery than live in a world so small that my mind could comprehend it." --Harry Emerson Fosdick
The great mystery...that immense realm about which we know nothing. This is life. There is much in life we do not know or understand. This can be the heart of your art--your search--your dream--your vision.
Looking becomes "seeing" and while "seeing," opinions may change.
A friend set a goal: find things overlooked to photograph every day. He began following a road less traveled and viewing the world through new eyes. His perspective changed as did his portfolio.
Photography can open Life's mysteries and become an ongoing adventure. Photography pulls you out of yourself and drops you in a fleeting place--confronting the ever-changing now.
Suggestion: Start looking everywhere at everything and practice "seeing." See discarded items, trash, a garden, a stream, a city street, and signs as photographs Everything holds potential. Look into the eyes of the young and the elderly. Chat with a dog, cat or bird. Stop and smell the roses. There, in the moment; compose, savor, capture and save.
AND...
