Clues to Mystery Plant

The clues are attached to the pictures.

I hope I've given enough clues that someone can figure it out, or do a search... just for fun, you know.

I'll tell you more tomorrow.

I'm having some serious hot flashes right now and need to go cool off. Sorry!     : - /

I have not looked ahead (like you accused me of before.. remember? lol) but isn't it some kind of elephant ear lily pad?  I didn't look it up or research it, I'm truly just guessing, and I'm probably wrong! lol

Anyway.. I will be anxious to find out.  Okay.. on to the next entry!

    Hugs,
    Jackie

Yes, Caroline... it is the Lotus plant! ... and I'm waiting for the flowers to bloom. Seems like the Lotus is more famous for her flowers than her leaves. They are native to North America and Asia... I didn't know that until I did some research. Native Americans have always been familiar with the lotus. One source tells me that the "seeds are viable for thousands of years." I wish I had a prize for you! Thank you for participating in "Name this Plant!" bea

I was trying to find information about your frog, and found two interesting websites that may help you find out what it is.

    http://www.dpughphoto.com/frogs_and_toads.htm

    http://www.dec.state.ny.us/website/dfwmr/wildlife/endspec/crfrfs.html

I seem to think it could be a cricket frog, because the adult doesn't grow more than an inch long.  Look at the pictures and see what you think.

By the way, the Blue Lotus is South Africa's most commonly grown indigenous water lily.  This lily, however, floats on the water and does not grow as tall as your one.
