What was the bump we hit you ask? Well alot of women have morning sickness but I had it times four! I was getting dehydrated and couldn't keep any food down so I went to the doctor and he decided to put in a pick line which is an IV that remains in your arm until the doctor removes it in my case a month later!! I also got this really nifty IV pole to go with it. I got to take that every where I went including the bathroom. I couldnt go out in public because I couldnt take the pole with me in the car so I got nice and bored! A nurse came and changed the line for the IV once a week and you can imagine how fun that was!

Finally I got over the sickness to the oint I could have the IV removed and all went well until I was 28 weeks pregnant. I was having contractions ans it was much to early for the babies to come now. I was admitted into the hopital where I layed there and ate. And they weren't joking they wanted me to eat! I had a stylist come to the hospital to do my hair cause frankly I was bored their too. She was going to put extensions in my hair so she began to braid my hair because we were going to sew them in and then it happened.....

Micheal and I began to talk about the situation. The men had decided that Micheal would be the biological father the first time due to the fact that he was the older of the two. He gave me his number and told me to think about it and call him. I went home thought about it for awile and called him we then set a lunch date for the next day. We met the next day and dicussed some issues such as what I did for a living and about my family and health. We also dicussed the same type of issues concerning him. We had three lunch dates following the first and decided to go ahead with the serrogacy. I was so excited! Micheal gave me the number of a fertility clinic and I called that day and set up an appointment for the following week.

At that appointment we discussed with the doctor all of the procedures and risks to myself. I had my tubes tied after the birth of my twins so we knew IVF was our only logical option of conception. We did all of the necessary tests such as HIV and blood types to make sure we were compatible with each other. Then it was time to order and start the medication. This was the true test of will for me I hate shots!!!

Micheal and I were referred to a "high risk" doctor where we learned we must make a decision either reduce some fetuses or I put my life in danger. I am only 5'2" tall so the chances of me carrying 5 babies and living to tell the story was slim to none. I had 3 children of my own to think about. Do I risk it or reduce and assure my life? Micheal, Thomas, and I got together and had a meeting. Thomas was against us reducing any babies. Micheal and I were certain we needed to do so to insure the remaining babies lives and mine also. After a long debate we decided to go ahead with the reduction. No one in Kentucky performed this procedure so we had to go to Pennsylvania. Micheal and I left on a Thursday I believe we had an appointment on Friday at 9:00 in the morning. After talking to the doctor who though it would be best to reduce to twins Micheal and I decided we would only reduce one and take our chances with quads. We were warned of the risks but ultimately it was our decision and we had decided.

We left the doctors office crying and depressed. We got in the car and headed for home. I cried the whole way. Did I make the right decision? What if we lose all the babnies still? My heart was broke and I was tired from crying. When I got home I said little and went to bed.

The pregnany went on as scheduled. Then we hit a bump.

After the shots began I was ok with it some had to be taken directly in the muscle and that was painful. I took shots for about 3 months. These shot made me produce more eggs than a women usually does and the other shots made the eggs grow so that they could be taken out of my ovaries and fertilized. When it was time to remove the eggs I was put to sleep and the eggs were retrieved. We ended up implanting the 5 best eggs. Now we wait. Two weeks went by and it was time for a pregnancy test. And it was positive, Now we wait two more weeks when we will have an ultrasound to see how many babies we have.

The wait seemed like months but the day finally came. To everyone's surprise especially Micheal and I all five eggs had taken and I was pregnant with quintuplets. I immediatly began to cry. The doctor had told us if this happened we would have to do a selective reduction. I felt my heart stop at that moment how could all five eggs take this has never happened to this doctor before at most she has women give birth to triplets. No one could have exspected this and now Micheal and I had a decision to make or so we thought.

I was a client at the Lexington Salon for about 1 year when I had taken my children in to get their hair cut. The kids were running around as they often due being louder than ever! Thomas one of the stylists and owners of the salon made a comment on how "cute" they were. I said jokingly, really wasnt one?! He responded with "actually my partner and I are looking for a serrogate mother". I was in shock because I had been interested in becoming a serrogate since myoldest son was born. I said this to Thomas who then immediatly ran upstairs to get Micheal his partner of five years. I then met Micheal who was a very professional looking man in a business suit. Not at all what I has expected neither of them where.
