Over tired

I feel like I need a break... so what do I do... make an entry on AOL. :-) I am still trying to get use to getting up earlier with hubby, going some place everyday, skunked dogs, and getting no where with the tax problem. :-) On top of that I am fighting a flying ant or flying carpenter ant problem. ugh Glass Plus knocks them deader than a door nail. If I try to squash them... they get on me! Yikes! I know they won't hurt me... but would hate for one to crawl in my ear or something. lol I have ORKIN coming next Tuesday morning. I did find out that an ant has 3 body parts. Head, back, and butt. A termite has head and butt. I don't see any wood dust so hoping it is not carpenter ants. When you look through a magnifying glass you can see them well.

Shawnee came in later this afternoon. She got under the desk and gave a big groan. lol She has to be within arm's reach of me at all times. The day I went to check out the White German Shepherd puppies.. I picked her up because she was being quiet sitting beside her mother. She had been watching me. The other one was running around everywhere. I picked her up and she was very still in my arms. The lady said... "Wow! She has bonded to you already. Usually they want down." Thinking to myself... Sure lady you are just wanting to sell a dog. lol Shawnee has been my shadow ever since the day I bought her. If I am in the bathroom her feet are under the door. My manufactured home has a space at the bottom of the door. Gary gets very upset with her because when he lets the dogs out; she turns and looks at me. She will not go out the door unless I tell her to go outside?? He said when I am gone he does not have that problem with her.

Shawnee could have came in the house last night but I left her out with Lakota. Shawnee stays on the porch wanting in, but I never know what Lakota will do. Gary found him walking down the road one day! Going east and he will get shot. As long as he is not alone he will stay in the yard. He is Gary's dog. Where ever Gary is, he is happy. When Gary is in the field working he drags up on him and comes to the house. lol He drives Gary crazy wanting to play ball. lol

The dogs are very smart. Gary repaired the roof on the little shed today. He was tired and sat on the porch and drank a Pepsi. Cherokee is old. She would love to play but can't. She got Lakota's ball. The only thing she liked to do was play keep away. lol She does not want to give you the ball !!! She had the ball in her mouth and was wanting Gary to take it from her. Lakota and Shawnee was checking it out. She showed her teeth and growled at them. Showing them that she was still boss. lol After a few minutes she dropped the ball and laid down. She has always been very undemanding and protective. She is satisfied with a little attention. She has her spot by the window. Lakota loves to take her spot. She is very smart!! She will go up to Gary and he will pet her. Here comes Lakota to get petted too. lol She lets him get petted and she takes her spot back. She has even acted like she wants outside... the others will want out... she takes her spot back.

Well, tomorrow is church so I had best get in bed soon. All of you are in my prayers. God Bless, Janie

I like noting the personalitiy differences between my beagles, too! At least they let you go to the bathroom and close the door, lol! Mine have to go with. It's not an issue unless I have company, lol! Baby is more into the "sounding the alarm" when she hears things, Molly is more of a suck up and they both just love everyone they meet. Baby likes to wrestle; Molly likes to fetch. Same breed. Both think they are lap dogs :-) - at the same time! But your dogs are of a smarter breed - lucky you! Mine are more focused on social behavior and food, lol!

I got a chuckle thinking about how smart she is... lol tricking the other dogs then getting waht she wants. lol too cute.

Finally got into your journal after the second try this afternoon. Hope you get rid of your ants soon. Here its sugar ants. The problem is John keeps feeding them. lol Paula

My favorite show is the Dog Whisperer so I love dogs. They do all have their own personalities. It's sad though when they get old but still wanna play like a pup. Have great day! rose
