Too Many Books Spoil the (Publishing) Broth?
Can there be too many good books?
This fall there are not only a lot of good books -- there are a lot of good books coming out from very big authors: Stephen King, Michael Crichton, Thomas Pynchon, Joseph Wambaugh, Alice McDermott, Alice Munro and John Grisham (his first non-fiction title).
Read the above article and then tell me, please: will a glut of fantastic titles make you buy more books? Or are publishers shooting themselves in the foot by making the book-buying experience like shooting fish in a barrel? (And how many metaphors can I torment you with today?). I'd love to hear what you think, either in blog posts or in an email: bookmaven2005 at aol dot com.

I stand corrected, Majbeck... "like shooting fish in a barrel" is definitely a simile.

okay, so I didn't go to UVA, but didn't you torment us with a simile with your use of like or as??? Or am I getting my schoolhouse rock lessons mixed up???
as for the books, I look forward to them all, as I cna read them as I find the time, unlike the ebb and flow of the movie industry. ( sometimes too many movies to see and sometimes, there is nothing in the theatres..)
