The Hot Celeb Accessory of the Month...

...is the title of "Author!"

From Tori Spelling to yes, even Renee Zellweger, now, stars are hopping on the publishing bandwagon. Zellweger told an Austrian site that she is an aspiring author and has written several books -- but can't hit the "Send" button, evidently. She says: "I have written every day since I could pick up a book. I'm not sure that i'ts for toher people's eyes. Would I publish it? I don't know, I don't plan it to be for anyone else, but we'll see... we'll see."

Spelling, of course, has announced that she's writing her memoirs -- at 33.

According to Simon Spotlight, Spelling "will let readers experience the truly unique life of Tori Spelling -- from childhood privileges to tabloid misperceptions, success and regrets, and ultimately her quest to define herself on her own terms."

What do you think?

YAWN. Tori Spelling's memoirs??? Renee Zellweger's childhood journals??? C'mon.. next thing you know someone is going to say celebs can READ.
How about giving those writers who work at their craft a chance publishing...are we really that celeb-centric???

I think that famous people suddenly deciding to write a book is their right, but  frankly I'm not interested in Tori Spelling telling me about a life most people can't relate to anyway.  And at age 33 no less.

I'd like to see unknown author's get a chance to say the exact same thing a famous person has to say, and maybe even better.

Of course to a certain degree it becomes a catch 22 doesn't it.  The name recognition gets you in the door and for the most part you can't get in the door if yoiu don't have the name recognition.

    Wish I had the answer.
