We had such a great day. Hubby got up and took Tugie in for her Christmas trim and then he came back and after coffee and showers, we ran some errands: the bank, Lowes for proper faucet fixings, Taco Bell, b/c I had forgotten to eat breakfast and it was lunch time...what's up with that? Then we went to Kroger to get our food for Mom's, for his Mom's and for our own Prime Rib dinner on Christmas Eve.
Hubby came back and added the new part to the faucet and it is working great except for a small leak at the base and he bought the stuff to fix that. He fixed it from spraying and also fixed the stoppage that was making the water pressure so low. I was able to wash dishes and enjoy it today. LOL
I got in a lot of cleaning today. The bathroom, the kitchen, vacuuming, and picking up things and putting up things, mopping the kitchen floor. Things look good for Christmas.
We went to get Tugie and she looks cute and neat in her Christmas trim and bows.

She wants to show you her bows....

We got some packages in today from UPS. How exciting. My pen pal, and once a roommate in college, Aletrice, sent me an ice cream maker that has a candy crusher on it. That was so sweet of her. I sent her nice stationery and envelopes to match along with some gourmet chocolates. I feel she spent way too much on me in comparison. It looks like this....and I'm sure we will enjoy it.

Then TheTeen got something herself in the mail.....Christie Cookies....from her Dad and I for her birthday. She had never had a Christie Cookie and she is IN LOVE. LOL If you have never had a Christie Cookie, you should order them on line and get you some. Do a search and it will come up. I'm too lazy to insert a link. LOL And they are EVEN BETTER than they look. The taste is powerful and to call them just a cookie does not do them justice. They are not hard at all. They are very chewy and soft and goey and yummy. This tin comes with Macademia Nut, Chocolate chip, and Oatmeal Raisin.

Well, I got busy this afternoon and made the sausage balls to take to Mom's and also made up the hashbrown casserole and got it ready to take to my sisters and it will need to cook there - it just has to be warmed up.
I also put the fudge I made yesterday in candy cups as you see below. Don't make fun of me. I'm not a very good candy maker and it didn't thicken up like I wanted even though I cooked it to hard ball stage and stirred and stirred. But I am pleased to say that the fudge tastes just like Mam-ma's (it's her recipe) but I was not patient enough like she was to keep stirring it to thicken. At least I think that was my mistake. So I figured to spoon it up and put it in these individual candy cups would work and allow it to be eaten. Yes, I know it doesn't look appetizing, but it is really tasty and addictive. The texture when you place it on your tongue is something too. I can't explain it. But that first moment you pop it into your mouth, you can feel the velvety fudge granules as it separates in your mouth....and I'm just tickled out of my ribs that I can get that taste now after all these years. Every Christmas, Mam-ma made fudge. Most Christmases I run out of time and don't get to fix it. But YAY, since I had vacation time....I finally got it done, not perfect, and not pretty, but it's there for the taking.

I also made chocolate covered pretzels. It made a lot b/c I had a whole pound of chocolate. LOL It took forever too. But Gordon Greek came over to pick up the Christmas cards that TheTeen had sorted and stayed for about an hour chatting with us in our kitchen. This kept me company while I dipped all those pretzels. LOL
I have enjoyed being off and being home more these last few days. It has meant so much to me to enjoy bringing the Christmas together - wrapping the last few gifts, getting to bake, and just enjoying it. I'm spoiled now and I will always want a week off at Christmas now. LOL
After the pretzel dipping....we headed out to eat Chinese tonight. It was sooooo good. We saw our friends Deb and Rick there. I accused them of living there b/c Deb has been there the last 4 times we have eaten there. REALLY. This is so funny to me. Anyway, the hot soup, salad was good, along with the hot tea. I always get the chicken on the stick, and egg roll, General Tsao's chicken, and a few other bites of some of the other dishes. I always eat with chopsticks. And at the end, I like eating the little donut hole with sugar along with the rest of my hot tea.
Then kicking and screaming, Hubby and TheTeen drug me to Walmart....however, I managed to stay in the car and cat napped, while they waded thru to get motor oil, of all things.
Well, the weather outside is frightful. LOL Very windy tonight. Rain on the way if not already and possibly thunder it says. The temps nose dive tomorrow.
Played around on PSP today at the beginning of the day and at the end. You can check the last 3 entries out in "My Spare Time" journal in my side bar.
Well, nite nite...I can hardly keep my eyes open.
