Iris Beds Blooming & Hubby Going to China?

The Iris beds are blooming big time.  Below....is my favorite color of them all I think.  They are a peachy color.  I love peach flowers....I love peach roses too b/c they are called "Sonya roses".  LOL  No I don't have roses in my garden....but you never know. One day... Maybe when I'm not in school.  LOL

The white ones are pretty too.

Looking down into this one....

I took pictures of what all we planted as well as Hubby's Elf in the garden and I will post those before long.

Today went fairly well.  I had the 2nd half of the job fair.  It was a job fair at a local auto diesel college in Nashville.  It was neat to get to meet the young folks and talk with them about the fact that sometimes their mechanical skills can transfer to other industries, like machine adjusting.  There were many that seemed pleased to have other options with their talents.  So many times I interview these guys that have graduated and have worked in auto shops, only to find they don't enjoy it due to the pressure.  Often commission and pressure from the company sends them packing.  Also the diesel repair is reportedly very hard and difficult work.  The time went by fast these last two days and my only dread had really been two things 1)  I was not feeling well and needed to be near the gals room ---luckily there was one very close.  2)  I am very insecure about going somewhere for the first time...I don't know why.  I am always afraid of finding where I am supposed to park, or where I'm supposed to be.  I was the same way with school and new classes.  LOL

At work after the job fair was over I went back to the office and.....well...it is just best described as chaos, I guess.  I'm not even going to to give it air time, as it is very frustrating right now.   If everyone spoke French, I think I would understand things about as well.

TheTeen and I ran to Logans and had a salad and ice tea.  Just a basic dinner salad.  Along with rolls.  Very good for the light dinner that we needed.

Recently, I found some curtains that blend in very nicely with my new comforter in our bedroom.  The curtains were embarrassingly cheap.  They were not the EXACT picture I had in mind, but for the money and for the look they give...I'm totally ok with it.  They are not lined either but seem to go with it well enough until we remove the wall paper and paint, which may be a year or two down the road.  I was afraid I wouldn't find anything to match and I did very well, better than design on a dime.  I'll take a pic eventually.  I have basically almost nothing in them.  LOL  I also put up curtains from the TheTeen's old room (like a white balloon curtain)...in the laundry room...taking down the major ruffles in there.  This curtain works "ok" in there although it needs more color...again...I'm fine with it for now.  I'd love to blinds in there  with a cute topper....but later....we'll figure out what works the best as time passes.  Mainly we need to focus on TheTeen's window treatments.  That is next.

I ran TheTeen to the soccer game tonight.  Hubby picked her up after his racquetball with GreekGorden and JedSled.   She has a new boyfriend.  They are meeting at the movies tomorrow night.  His name is "Garrison".  I met his father at work one day...he does business with us and came in to tell me that I had picked a good school a couple of years ago when we changed her school.  We discovered our kids were in the same grade.  Would be funny now if I run into him...LOL

Hubby sent me an email today saying he needed to get a passport.  His work told him to go ahead and do this b/c they will be wanting him to go to China within the next 6 months.  There is a new guitar they are doing that will require him to go buy specialized parts that go on it that cannot be purchased in the US.  He and another guy at work will have to go and hook up with a trading specialist who will take them to all the places they need to go to buy parts.  He says they will have a translator.  This is all very intriguing.  TheTeen wants to go.  LOL. I think I'll stay home.  We are not invited anyway. LOL  Tis not a family vacation.

I'm still mad at China over the tainted dog food and lead paint in toys.  And yadda...whatever else hasn't been uncovered yet.  But...I do think this will be a good experience for Hubby.  It will be good for his career.  It will expand his business knowledge.  To know how to be a global player now with your career is very attractive to employers.   There is actually a Global HR Certificate with Society of Human Resources...just for HR dealing with this in my own field.  I've studied about putting HR programs together in my MBA program for employees who work in foreign lands. All very intriguing.  So I'm happy for Hubby.  We know several folks that have been to China already.  His company is a frequent visitor there anyway....should be interesting.  He is going to work on getting the passport for when the time comes, if it comes.  He says he is "excited but apprehensive".

My own thrills today were not quite as surprising....but....I have found my NetFlix movie.  I shall watch it soon.  We also found my handbags in the boxes that I could not get to.  I think we have found all the things I was missing anyway.  The rest can be unpacked "whenever".

Right now I am concerned over school.  My class has to be done by May 16th.  It's doable.  But I need to get less focused on the house and more focused on this class and get it behind me.  I may actually take a few weeks off after I finish this, to finalize things in the house.

Lots of things going on with the old house in prepping it for sale.  Hubby and his parents talked about it tonight.  I will tell you what's going on as it happens....but I'm hearing things like...new roof, new gutters, paint, fixin' windows, cutting trees....and so forth.  Lots of mixed feelings.  So many of these things I wanted to do when we were there but Hubby would not spend the money b/c we planned on moving.  I wanted to go ahead and do it and enjoy the changes while we were there...and to do it knowing the house would increase in investment.  It kinda makes me sad to see it all improved at this late point and dang we could have done it all along and enjoyed it. LOL  Can we say Sonya was right about all this all along?  No, I'll be nice and won't say that.
But, I'm not so dumb after all, it appears. Not that I don't want it to be improved to sell well ---that's not my point at all.  If we were going to pay for it though, it would have been nice to have done it and enjoyed it while we lived there.

Ok, I'm going to bed.  Need sleep.  Lots of sleep.  Glad tomorrow is Friday.  I'll get her done and over with and then Saturday I will focus on getting school work done.

Nite Nite

    Alors . . . je parle français. . . comprends-tu?  lol
I just HAD to do that (reference:  "If everyone spoke French, I think I would understand things about as well.")  I am SO EXCITED over your new house!  I miss you, and I've been trying to read when I get the chance!  Sophie will be a year old in TWO WEEKS, and she is extremely mobile these days. . . maybe one day you and I can visit in person again.   Please know that I'm thinking about you!
    Love & Hugs . . . .

Hi hon, just wanted to say I love the Iris you have blooming. Gorgeous flowers. Sounds like we are both making a lot of the same home improvements on our homes. I wish ours was for a move toward the country but for the time being at least the home will be improved. (Hugs) Indigo

I don't know how you do it.  Between the stress you have at your job, school, the move, and everything in between, you'll soon need a nice long break!  Enjoy your weekend.
