Only Monday but Worn Out Already....LOL

Just needed a calm and pretty picture tonight.  I'm out of pictures...but will have some more before long as a few other things are beginning to bloom.

Today was not a bad day at all, just very busy.  The day was broken up with a real treat though.  I had lunch with 4 other folks from work, two were visitors from corporate and one of them bought our lunch at Ellendales.  It was fantastic.  Loved the  chocolate fondue and strawberries too.  Some lucky people I know get 25% off right now when they eat there.
I got a better deal as mine was free today.  Ellendale's is best described as Southern Gourmet Buffet and is a tea room of sorts.  I've mentioned it before in my journal.  We usually reserve it for special occasions.  But you know as expensive as Long Horn is...it's really about the same.  But our favorite waiter Charlie is not at Ellendale's.  So we will go to Long Horn.  LOL  He knows all our preferences.  LOL

Well, TheTeen texted me and one of the subjects she was failing, she has managed to somehow pull an A out of the hat.  Enough so that it is a 97 and she is exempt from the exam in that class .  I'm floored.  They dropped the lowest grade and must have had some curving going on.  Plus some of her grades counted twice.  She was excited and I was too.   She missed history by one point.  She made a 92 and needed a 93 to be exempt from the exam.

Geometry is another story.  She will pass for the year in this class I'm sure.  But for this 9 weeks, she will be lucky if she gets a C in this class.  I'm extremely disappointed.  The exam for this will be Thursday.  She has some odd schedules the next few days.  Hubby and I are going to have to share being a taxi back and forth to exams.  She has been studying for it and getting some tutoring from her teacher and from friends at school.  She was a bit shaky voiced when talking about it tonight.  I think she knows her future is hanging on this.  If she doesn't make a decent grade in this class she will not regain all of her privileges back. Hubby has a list of the privileges and what thing gets them back.  I can't remember.  LOL  I just know that right now during these last few weeks - NO socialization but focusing on school is bringing her back to where she should be...................except for Geometry.

I loved Geometry when I took it in the 10th grade.  But I had a good teacher that explained it well and made it fun.  I don't know if I could even remember any of it now, but I loved it back then.  She is in a high honors class.  So she is taking it a year earlier than I did.

TheTeen and I ran some errands tonight.  We went to get gas, went to Autozone and bought windshield wiper fluid (which I go thru a lot of b/c those who get on my back bumper get squirted til they move)....then we went to return our weekend movies.

Speaking of the movies...Heartbreak Kid would have been cute if it hadn't been for all the ugly scenes in it. TheTeen did not watch it.  It was one I rented for myself with our free movie for opening the account with Hollywood Video.  I think it should have been rated worse than R.  It was repulsive.  So while I like Ben Stiller...this was just a bad taste in a film.  They could have made it so cute and they ruined it with the trash they put in it.  Was this Ben Stiller's latest movie?  If so he's gone down hill in what types of films he accepts.  Very disappointed.  Don't recommend it.

While we were doing some chores around the house, I started to feel very run down.  Just hit me all of a sudden.  Tired and feeling like I am just too tired to move.  I have felt like I have a low grade fever.  I do this every now and then for no apparent reason.  So here we go again.

I'm going to get off of here and go to bed early in hopes of feeling better tomorrow.  I don't feel like unpacking anything else tonight.  I have unpacked two bags of stuff.  That is it.

Nite Nite

You have some awesome photos in your journal...Thanks for sharing them. Yes, just the thought of Monday makes me tired on Sunday!!! I've had more than my share of the "TEEN THING"!!! Kids this day and time have SOOO much to deal with! My youngest son just turned 13, and the Doc put him on antidippressants!!!I think I'm the one who should be on meds!! Oh well...                             we hope it helps his attitude towards school and life in general...so far it's been a week and he does seem to be more stable and more calm and more confident.  It's strange that stress can make people so sick, and even our youth can suffer from the efffects of it. Have a great week! Love2U Sharon

I'm glad that evrything seems to be turning around for the teen.  Sorry about the Geometry.  Maybe things will go much better next year.

I'm feeling bad too.  Maybe we'll both be feeling better soon.

Oh yes I remember the days of geometry.  I liked it fairly well and did well but gosh it was ages ago and I forgot all I learned.  LOL.  Nick took a test yesterday to see if he will get to take an advanced math class next year and I am so nervous for him.  He wanted this so bad this year and threw the test last year because they didn't tell the kids what the test was for and he just didn't try.  This year I told him he must try to do well on ALL his tests... hopefully he has learned his lesson.... he tested out at an eleventh grade math level on some computer test recently which is the only reason the teacher let him take this test because he does not do all his homework and me working nights, he gets away with this.  I have to find a way to put a stop to it but he is so sneaky.   You know some teens have that bad attitude and Nick is one who we are going to have to take a lot of privileges away from at some point again in the near future.  His attitude is terrible 40% of the time.  I am so disappointed these days in his actions.  He is being my prodigal.  I hope teen does well on her exam.  The lunch from Ellendales sounds lovely!!!  LOL I would like to meet Charlie the waiter.  Hugs,
    Lisa
