Finally...the Weekend is Upon us.

Well finally...the weekend has arrived...I am pleased to say that I have made an about face from yesterday to today on the work front.  I was able to get much accomplished...as I had very few interruptions...this gave me almost 8 hours of progress after subtracting interruptions.  That was great.  I shut my door most of the day...until I saw I was out of the critical zone.  I had reached a point that if anyone gave me any more problems or issues to solve...I would have frozen into place.  Our GM was awesome today to buy some goodies for breakfast for us.  We had some type of monkey bread, a coffee cake, and some fruit.  It was yummo.  That was nice.  Maybe I will fix something next Friday...we could have like a Friday breakfast club.  LOL  It was a horrible work week......so many things went wrong... but glad it all ended well.  I still have lots to do but most of the reviews are done and I have a head start on deadlines. The only thing I'm worried about is not getting the affirmative action report done yet for Jan, Feb, March...and soon it will be time to do April, May, June...so I need to get crackin on it.  Several work issues <aka employees> have kept me from my main responsibilities.  I won't go there.  LOL

So....I ran by KMart on the way home to look at a table that Hubby thought would work in the kitchen.  It was square.  I'm kinda hoping for a round table.  It will be "high dining" - sortof in b/w regular table height and bar table height.  Perfect to have a table like that for our kitchen area.  I told Hubby I liked the square table ok but I thought I'd hold out for a round one.  It will look great and take up less space I believe. We agreed to go look at furniture stores for it...and we'll be buying new lighting for the kitchen as well (ceiling fan with a light)...

Hubby came home last night and told me the things that have been updated at the old house.  He told me there was a new ceiling fan/light in the kitchen (no squeaky fan with a short in the light making a strobe light?), the 2nd toilet was fixed (the new family won't have to race each other to the only toilet), the attic stairs kit installed (the new lady of the house will not have to ask her husband every year to get down the seasonal clothes and the Christmas decor -she can come and go as she pleases), the living room painted, all the trees topped (they won't have to worry about the dead trees falling in a storm like we did),and  the back door that was funky that I didn't like was removed and the house will be getting a brand new roof.  He didn't see it, but as we lay there in the dark and he told me these things....tears streamed down my cheeks.

I could not sleep after that....too much tea I suppose...I got up and sat in the "moon room"...and realized in the dark and the moon light....just how tall those trees are in the woods behind us...just beautiful.  I wondered how old they were.  I felt immediately calm, tears dried, and finally felt a peace and went back to bed.  God is good.  He is there.  He knows every piece of our heart like the back of ones own hand. A few darker circles under the eyes these last couple of days....but all is well.

TheTeen has been given her cell phone back due to her good efforts and grades thus far...although she does have her history exam left that is on Tuesday.  Hopefully grades will be posted soon on edline and I suspect we'll allow her PC back at that point.

Meanwhile....she was given permission to meet friends at a local restaurant for a 16th birthday party...as mentioned in yesterday's journal entry.   However, there has been some confusion as to what was going on with the limo (where and who was chaperoning the event).  TheTeen was very honest today (well, after I kept pressing)....she found out that the party was not well organized....no reservations had been made, and no parental supervision going on the limo and the plan was to go to 2nd Avenue downtown Nashville - 15 and 16 year olds on their own?  Uh...nooooo.  Wow.  I was shocked.  I would never allow my child to do that and shocked someone else would.  For eighteenth birthday maybe.  LOL  Even TheTeen said "we are not going b/c there is no supervision and we know you won't let us go" (TheTeen and FriendK said this about us parents).

So...........I'm very pleased to report that TheTeen asked if it was ok to invite Friend K and Friend L over to the house for a girls movie night....well, heck yeah!  LOL  At least I know where they are.  No worries.  They watched one movie and we had dinner and now they are on movie two.  I feel bad for the birthday boy.  I'm not sure who all he invited.  Iam not sure how many fit in a limo...but I know at least that TheTeen and FriendK did not go.  ..so I hope he still has lots of folks to go and eat dinner with.

Dinner was a treat tonight.  We ordered the pizza hut pasta (marinara version)...sweet BBQ wings (10)....and the 3 medium pizzas for $5 each...to feed the five of us and to have some left over munchies for the weekend.  Yummo...our little italian buffet was great.  I almost ordered the 6 mini apple pies that were for $3.99.  But, I made myself back them out of the order.  LOL.  And none of us were hungry after eating all that.  It would have been good though.  Has anyone tried their mini apple pies?

Ok I'm glad it is Friday.  But tomorrow is insanely busy. I have my eye appointment, TheTeen has her cheerleading car wash and then we have the graduation party to attend two counties away.  We are hoping to stop at Cool Springs on the way back and see if we can spot any tables we like (or sofas for the basement).  Then Sunday we have church.  After church we can relax and celebrate having a whole day and a half to ourselves, to recoup, unpack, and unwind.

Hope you all have an awesome holiday weekend.

Sonya

Sorry about the old house getting fixed up.  I know how much it hurts to fix up a house for somebody else.  It just stinks.  God is so wonderful....I just love how he calmed you.  You have a beautiful house and you'll do lots to that!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  I'm guessing the cheerleading coach gave you no hassle about the carwash?  LOL!  Lots of Love!

Can I just say, I know how you must feel?!  My husband put the gutter back on the back of the house after it being off for two years!  Oh the joy.  He also cut down some trees that had taken over the side of the house.  The total time spent? 6 hours, in 3 hour shifts.  I am just thankful he didn't wait until we were moving to do it.
