Contacts, Grad Party, Furniture Shopping

We are worn out....

I had my eye appt. exam at 9:30 this morning.  While I went to that Hubby went to take her to the cheerleading car wash.  The irony of this is that back two weeks ago...I made my eye appt. on Saturday knowing it would not interfere with cheerleading. LOL Normally I would have made the appt. after work during the week.  LOL   Life itself cracks me up sometimes.

So....all met back home and then after TheTeen changed from car wash clothes to graduation party clothes then we headed out to Franklin for the grad party.  It was very nice.  Our friends had the party catered. And also had a blue grass band from my home town.  I asked one of the band members if he had ever heard of my Dad who played the fiddle.  He surprised me by saying that he worked with him for several years at Union Carbide and knew his best friend Donald.  They even played once together on stage at a bluegrass festival.  One of those "small world" moments. Ohhh...and Tugie was invited to the party so she got to go.

After the party...and on the way home.....

We went to the Cool Springs area and searched several stores for our table for the kitchen area and also a sofa for the downstairs.  We found the sofa.....and almost found the table.  But we don't think it was tall enough.  The sofa is a tan leather sofa which was very comfortable.  It has the reclining seats on the end too...which I love.  We signed up for the 12 months same as cash as we always do on things like this...and the guy told us this weekend we get $100 off any furniture or accessories.  I thought I might pick out a print, or fabulous flower arrangement, or perhaps a unique lamp.  But we found a piece of furniture (I'm not sure what it is called) but it is a type of table that has a cabinet, a mirror, and also a couple of coat/hat rack hooks.  It is long and upright....and the perfect piece for what we needed b/w the fireplace and the french doors going out to the patio.  We have found we need a table there...a "catch it" table....For example...Tugie's leash will be kept there so we always know where it is.  We had a spot like that at the old house.  And then when we come in from work...we get the mail and need to put it somewhere along with purse and keys, etc....until we get thru watering plants and feeding cats and such...it's like a "holding place"....and we just loved this table.  We got these from Ashley Furniture...and it has to be made...the sofa is in stock...the other is not...it will take 4-6 weeks for it to be delivered.  We went to a lot of other stores and this one had the sofa we thought would look good in the basement...so since they had it...they get the business....even though we have to wait.

Driving home, I went to call my Mom and discovered I had a call from the corporate payroll Department  in Texas.  I thought, "why are they calling me as I've not been over payroll for about 2 to 3 years now".  They wanted the payroll person to tell them something about processing payroll early this weekend and to see what the payroll person wanted to do.  I didn't have the payroll person's correct cell phone.  I did try to email.  You'd think they would have their own payroll people's emergency numbers in case they need them.  I have some emergency numbers somewhere for folks at work...but it is packed up in a box somewhere.  I've not unpacked all my desk items.
Anyway, I hope all is well...I relayed the message the only way I knew how.  Maybe next time they'll swap emergency cell numbers.  Very surprised they had not gathered that information already as meticulous as they seem to be over payroll matters.

Then we came home...I'm about to fall asleep.

We have church tomorrow.  All week Hubby and I talked about going to the first church again - at least I heard him say "well ok I liked it there"....  And then somehow he told TheTeen that we could try out some other church...but failed to tell me about it.  So when they were talking about what time we needed to be there they were talking about that church's times for sunday school and church and I was telling them they were wrong.  They were talking about a completely different church's times.  Well, I'm not going to that church.  We already said we were not going to go there and we said why.  I won't get into details about which church it is or why...as it will offend some...Hubby said "oh it's just a visit"...well no...I'm not going there...not even to visit.  So I am very distraught over the church thing.  I KNEW this was not going to be easy b/c I know my family...I know how stubborn everyone is...so why on earth would it ever be easy especially with the devil grinning his way thru shooting us arrows in the process.  Hubby and I liked the first church so we should have just kept going there for week 2 last week but we wanted TheTeen to have a chance to try out a church....now she wants to try another church...and now everyone seems to have lost their senses.
Well, I'm going to the original church...and they can go wherever.  But I can tell you if we do not go to church as a family...there will be more division in our family than just not going to the same church...and I've announced that before.  I will not have it.  If we can't worship as a family.....it will rip us apart at the core.   So I guess if Hubby wants to get rid of me...he's found a way.

Well, I'm going to bed.

Hi Sonya,  I love shopping for furniture, I`m sure yours will be lovely. I always put keys in a small cabinet made for the purpose that I found in a small shop. Everyone now knows exactly where their keys are...as long as they remember to put them there...lol!  Usually the post is put on the bookcase in the hallway and I have to sort it out and tidy it up. :o)

    Love Sandra xxxx

I can just see that sofa now...bet it will be nice.  Shopping for furniture is so much fun...we need to go soon...for our rearrangement of rooms.  Sorry about the division on where to go to church...I see your side.  Hope it all will be resolved soon.  Have a good weekend...and a wonderful tomorrow...hugs,

Maybe you can suggest to the husband that prayer as a family is needed to decide on a church together, so all will feel peace about it (eventually).  I agree with you going to different churches is going to be tough.  I don't think he is trying to get rid of you, lol.  When a man endures shopping with a woman for furniture, that says to me he's in it for the long haul (grin).  Hang in there Sonya, it will work out.  God Bless.
