Hearing What's New, Pussycat?

Mind Games (Again)

Well, the mind games worked again.  The Colts have become immersed in Belichick’s spell after flying north of Tennessee.  This is a strange phenomenon.  The Colts are going to have to win the AFC in order to make it any further.  They simply will have to have home field advantage if they want a real shot at the trophy.  Or, maybe a summer of counseling, something to help with their confidence when they travel to New England.

Of course what everyone was asking for happened.  A snow storm once again crept its way into Foxboro, much earlier than anticipated, and that was enough to initially break my confidence.

The Colts struggled early.  Dallas Clark’s dropped ball was an indication of the rest of the game.  Tom Brady played masterfully, and the rushing attack was stunning.  Over 200 yards rushing by Cory Dillon and Faulk and control of the clock was the Colts worst nightmare.  The backup secondary of the Patriots simply stayed with the ball, and did not slip up.  Simply they were a better team last night, as they have been the past 7 meetings.

Either way after the game, Brady and Bruschi most likely sat down at a candle lit dinner, told each other how beautiful they are, and sealed the night with a kiss.  See you next year!!!!!

Hearing My Morning Jacket rock out

I Can't Wait for Sunday

The problem with looking at a game like the Colts at the Patriots this weekend is that coming from my standpoint and looking at it from my angle, the Patriots do not have a chance to win this game one bit.  There are just too many injuries in Foxboro to match up with the power of the Colts at this time.

I feel like Tom Brady has not been on a rest, I feel like he has disappeared. Sure, the past makes things look like the Colts are in for another disappointing end of the season to most football fans.  But have they been watching the Colts all season, or just looking at the scores the day after????  To truly understand what has happened after the thrashing takes place this weekend, you would truly have to be a Colts fan.

I can’t wait to read the stories of the fans on Monday. The stories asking the questions like “How could this have happened?”  “What happened to the Patriots?” when the answer has been lying right in front of them all week.  Unless the sky opens up in Massachusetts and dumps ice the size of footballs, the answer should have been clear to all the skeptics.  This is the real “Mismatch Made in Heaven”.

There can not be a better time for the Colts to walk all over this team.  The Patriots are in their worst week of injuries this season, missing Ty Law, possibly Richard Seymour, Tom Brady’s best friend off the field Randall GAY, and 3 other members of the secondary that are questionable.  The only thing that is on their side is the inclement weather that the East Coast has experienced this week.  Today, there is rain turning to snow from NJ to BOSTON, and the temperature is dropping from 60 degrees last night to 20 degrees this afternoon into the evening.  Good for the Patriots?????  Not really.  It would be in Coach B?s best interest to rethink covering the field at Gillette in my opinion.  It?s not like the Colts are going to be the only slow team on the field.

So here we go, into one of the best weekends of the year, and I have a feeling that on Sunday night the population of believers will have increased.

Hear Me on Pigskin Bloggers Live

Respek to AOL Sports for having me as a guest on their debut broadcast of Pigskin Bloggers Live on Monday night. I verbally disrespected the Broncos secondary and mixed it up a bit w/ the Patriots Blogger.

Listen to the show right here (I come on at the 13-minute mark).

And stayed tuned to the NFL Fan Central -- where PBL broadcasts from -- b/c I'll be back on live Tuesday night at 7PM ET to talk more mad [bleep] to the Pats Blogger and whoever the hell we're facing in the AFC Championship!

A Mismatch Made in Heaven

What happened yesterday in Denver was a confirmation to me and the naysayers of what everyone can expect come next Sunday in New England.  The sheer power of the Indianapolis WR corps versus Denver’s overrated secondary was a mismatch made in heaven.  For anyone to believe that it is all right for 2 players in the Denver backfield to be voted to go to Hawaii after the season is over should be a crime.  On that note, for any player in the NFL -- John Lynch, Cramp Bailey, whoever -- to think that it is all right to spout off at the mouth for a week after beating the Colts 2nd and 3rd team by two touchdowns, about how “soft” the Colts wide receivers are, they should be fined by the league for stupidity, and Dallas Clark should be the recipient of the money paid.  In your face John Lynch!!!!!!!  35 points at the half, Peyton ran for a sneak, 221 yards for Bruce Wayne, over 100 for Dallas Clark, touchdowns for almost everyone, oh my…

New England, ahh New England

Cold, snow, rain, it does not matter, the colts are 18-9 on the road in the past 3 seasons including the post-season under Tony Dungy.  What a tactic it was to keep Marvin a bit rested this week, not that he could not have abused Champ Bailey…. oh sorry he did with the crushing block that let Reggie in for another touchdown, but keeping him from abusing the Broncos only leaves what fairytales are written about to happen next week where Harrison is going to dismantle the injured miniature secondary of the Patriots, just a prediction.  Listen, my words are written with full respect for Belichick.  He very well may have the ability to overcome the loss of a few key players, but just a prediction, he will not be able to.  Once next Sunday comes, all you New England fans will finally realize that this time it is not the ring that makes Tom Brady a champion quarterback, and it certainly is not his numbers. It is the team at the time that Brady won the Superbowl(s), that helps the quarterback to the title and in Tom Brady’s instance on Sunday after Peyton and company provide a dose of reality, it is the team again that will be carrying his Coach luggage set back to his house on Sunday night for him, tip toeing into the house with the hopes of not waking up his sleeping boyfriend.  Bring it on Funboy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Peace,

Colts-Broncos Preview

There are a number of reasons that the Colts are going to show Denver what it means to get robbed of their playoff hopes two years in a row.  I plan on naming just a few as my ability to write has been limited, similar to the way that the Broncos are going to be limited total yards at the RCA dome.

  1. Jake Plummer thinks that he can come out of the woods and intimidate players with his caveman looks, the way Lyle Alzado did for the Raiders.  Well that kind of intimidation by looks is reserved only for DB’s and linebackers, and Jake Plummer looks like a 4 year old all other times of the year.  Not to mention he threw about as many interceptions this year as if my 4 year old niece were throwing the pigskin for the Broncos.
  2. John Lynch is a prick.  I hope he trips someone in the first 5 minutes of the game and the officials eject him on the fact that he is just a plain prick.
  3. Peyton Manning remembers what he did last year to the Broncos, 5 drives, all where points were put on the board.  31-3 at the half; come on?  The only thing that could make this worse for the Broncos is that this year, the Colts now have 3 wide receivers that surpassed 1,000 yards.  Don’t ever forget that, it is going to be a long NEVER before that ever happens again.
  4. I am bored at this point writing about what is going to happen Sunday afternoon.  I want to fast forward to next week when The Colts visit Captain Metrosexual and his balanced yet penetrable family.  Good weather or not, the only thing that is going to beleft on the field after the Colts beat the Patriots in Foxboro is Tom Brady?s lipstick and compact, because Dwight Freeney is going to eat Brady?s panties by the end of the first half.  Circles are going to be run around a defense that already is hurting at the prospect of Richard Seymour joining Cry Law on the sideline, drinking tea and waiting for their leader to just finish the game so they can go cry and get manicures.

That?s it; tonight I will be having dreams of Jacksonville, and the bloodied field in Massachusetts.  Get out of our way Denver, lift up your skirts New England.
