Tree Thieves

What the hell is the world coming to? I saw a news program tonight that people are stealing trees. Who steals trees? They cut down several very old trees in this family's yard while they were on vacation and sold them to a saw mill. I would have never in my life even considered that people would do this. And, apparently, it happens a lot. One landowner lost nearly 80 thousand dollars of his old growth trees. They are trying to decide if it is a felony crime and I say it should be. Grand theft is anything over 10 thousand right? It's a shame. I can't decide if it is that people are too lazy to get a real job or if Bush has gotten us in such a bad economic state that people are resorting to this type of behavior. Stealing copper plumbing from homes and trees from yards. Maybe a little of both but it worries me. Can you shoot someone for trespassing while they are cutting down a tree in your yard. It's unreal. Has anyone else heard of this? Just wanted to share the BS that I saw on the news today. I normally don't watch the news because it always disgusts me but I needed to watch the weather today and I happen to catch this. Lord, help us.
