The Transplant House

The Transplant House is located across the street from the Hospital.  It is on the 7th floor of a large office building.  It is owned and operated by transplant survivors for families and patients of organ transplants.

The rooms are efficiency type apartments.  It is one big room with a bed, a hide-a-way bed/couch, a microwave, sink, and compact refridgerator.  There is a big bathroom that is indictive of patients that need lots of room for IV Poles or wheelchairs.

Ron is impressed with how neat and clean everything is there.  The people are just amazing.  They are all caring, go out of their way to make you feel at home, and want to help any way they can.

This is where he & Gail are staying.  It is $50 a night, no matter if there is just one person staying there or 8-is-enough.  Bring the whole clan.  We can take a road trip and all crash on the floor!!! Who's driving?

Ron met a nice gentleman at The Transplant House.  He had a small-intestine transplant a year ago.  He said that he's doing great.  He has his life back.  He was down for a routine check up. That gave Ron some hope (Oh, Hi, Hope - it's always great to see your beautiful face.)

Ron said The Transplant House has an antiquidated community computer for residents to use.  Our goal is that when this is all over and everyone is back on our feet - financially, chronologically, and emotionally - that we can donate a nice computer to them for all the love & compassion they have shown us.  If you would like to donate $5 - $10 to the THC Fund (no, not that kind of THC - this would mean "Transplant House Computer" Fund) please send it to Donna at the State FOP.  She will mail it to us and it will go toward that purchase. With or without donations, we will make that happen for this magnificent place!

Are you an organ donor yet? We sure are glad that little 9 year old was!
