Wednesday Woes

This morning began in such a way that it could only get better.  Sara had a bad night and terrible morning.  Her mom is not able to be with her much, her dad's doing the best that he can. I wonder how some people do it - long term chronic illnesses.  We've only been going through this for a year and a half.  One woman told me she & her husband have been struggling with his cancer for 10 years! I can't imagine.

God is truly amazing!  Throughout the course of the day, he sent tons of folks to love on and encourage me.  I got phone callls and emails from folks I've never met.  Wow! They took the time to spread a little love my way.  I pray that everyone in Miami recieves just as much, if not more, love from those around them.  Another lady offered to kidnap me and we've only talked a couple of times.

As the day progressed, everyone improved.  My spirits were lifted, Ron didn't sound quite as overwhelmed, and Sara was doing better.  They are begining to cut her pain meds down.  She was up walking in the halls today.  How miraculous is that?

(So, this is the playground, huh, God?  All your friends have come out to play with us?  Thank you for inviting them.  They sure made the day better.  They taught me some new games to play, some new ways to find a smile, and told me some silly jokes.  I sure appreciate you doing that for me.  You know, I was thinking this afternoon, as I read through my emails - I am very glad you can multi-task! I'd hate to think what shape this world would be in if you couldn't hold my hand while you were holding someone else's! That's pretty cool.  And did you hear me singing tonight? Yeah, I made up those words. I thougth they were pretty good.  You did too? I'm glad they made you smile. That was kinda' the intention.  Bind us together Lord, Bind us together with duct tape that cannot be broooo' oken, Bind us together Lord, Bind us together, bind us together with love.  Well, your duct tape of love has bound Sara together, and our family - blood and un-blood.  Friends from all walks of life.  Thank you for that priviledge.  Help me to remember that it's all your doings and to pass the word along. Ok, I'm tired now, so I'm signing off.  Sweet dreams - and you can come to mine for a walk on the beach if you'd like.)
