Sorry, beloved, devoted reader. My mother chastised me just today for not updating sooner. It gets so crazy sometimes - life.
I suppose now is as good as any time, anyway. Ron took Sara to Athens hospital today. She's dehydrated and has been running a low grade fever for a couple of days. She needed some fluids, but because they took her port out in Miami, we have no way of administering them via IV. This was a concern in Miami. Ron talked to Dr. T about it when they were considering not putting the port back in. Dr. T agreed w/ Ron & they tried to put one back in, but couldn't.
Ron said that before Sara's surgery, when we were still working with Birmingham doctors, that Athens Hospital was very cooperative and quick to call down there for help. So, maybe they don't have the ego problem Huntsville does.
Ron sent me a text a little bit ago. He said they admitted Sara. They're also running her lab tests that she needs. She'll probably get out tomorrow, the next day at the latest. Hopefully, that is what will happen.
OK, more later. I will try to update the blog at least weekly when things are going OK, just to keep you updated with what's happening.
