Note: the "HA!" in the title line is to be said sarcastically and emphatically.
Sara's heart rate went from 150 bpm to 50 bpm within the first hour of receiving hydration...so that's a good thing. The nurse got her blood drawn with only one stick...another good thing. It's Thursday and Sara's still in the hospital...not a good thing.
She's been running a low grade fever. They're beginning to wonder if perhaps her incision is infected. It doesn't look angry, but it's still very open and runny. Not sure when she'll get out.
We did get a local doctor who agreed to take her on as a patient. He'll work with Miami, is reportedly very smart, and likes challenging cases. I don't know how much he bargained for....this is a good thing, though, because it'll help dramatically when we need simple things like hydration or an emergency prescription for something. He can do her labs & keep an eye on her.
She & Ron were supposed to go to Birmingham tomorrow (Friday) to meet w/ Dr. Olsen. He was her nutritionist when she was on TPN. He agreed to meet w/ them and look over her diet to help her eat better & stuff. I guess that'll be rescheduled too.
If I were to ask a prayer request for now, this would be it: grace & perseverance and endurance for all of us, AND that maybe Sara could catch a break now & then with all of this. We all understand God has been here the whole time. Sara is a walking miracle....but maybe He'd see fit to make it a little easier for her? Nothing has gone smoothly for her. Everything has had complications and difficulties. Every step of the way, it's been two steps forward, one step back. Maybe we could take two steps forward and no steps back? What about 4 forward steps in a row?
Thank you for caring.
