Am sorry I have been so remiss in keeping up with my journal. However I have been reading all of yours----sometimes several entries at a time.Forgive me if i don't alays comment. It is still hard for me to type--as you can see by my typos. We have hasd a very dull summer so far--mostly doctor visits and traiping to the drug store as the doc changes things almost sweekly.Main problem for me is my szwollen legs. I have had to rig up a thing to get my legs higher than my heart--no fun lying like that at all!! Barb

Things going along here. Have been going to rehab to try and get some strength. Last week therapist said I looked too pale and she didn't want to work me. Seems my hemoglobin was only 9 ! No wonder I have been so tired! Our boys have been wonderful---the oldest stops by almost daily. We have been to their homes for meals etc.The grandkids are great too---always willing to help---sometimes too much--they think i need to be pushed or pulled, when i only need an arm to steady me.

The weather is as strange as the winter in Texas was. It is cold to cool many days and the nites own in the 40's. We got home too late to plant a garden this year and haven't put in any flowers either. Good thing I have plenty of perienials around.

WE----mostly huband, has decided we must sell this house and move into a one story place. We have put our name in at a beautiful coop place.Have to put in 500 dollars too! Now we have to get this place ready to sell. How I dread it!! Just my books alone will be a problem to get rid of. Have already taken many of them to the library.

Just this much typing have made me so tired--so will say bye for now!

Jerry and I were sitting on the deck this afternoon and an animal the size of a baby pig walked by and went under our house! Itwas spotted brown and light nd had a loooooong snout. Also a very long skinny tail. What do we do with this now? Seems as if it isn't one thing, tis another.

Time is running fast and we are getting slower. For 21 years we have said that we are just going to pack an over nite case, hop in the car/truck and go. After all we have the same appliances, clothes, games etc. at both ends of the country. Why then do we make it so complicated? I have been shredding paper---why didn't I do it as it came in? I have been picking up stuff---why not pick it up when its laid down? If the shower door can look frosty all winter, why does it need to be sparkling when we leave? why pull up the weeds when two days after we leave my flowers will all be dead. (except for my ice plants---even tho they dry up, they come back to life in the fall with watering).

Right now there are 4 chicken breasts cooking in the oven--not cuz we are hungry--but to use them up for supper tonight and maybe lunch tomorrow. There are still more plus hamberger, ham and a few other things in the freezer. We broke up a loaf of Mexican bread for the birds while we were on the deck. It is made with the juice of a cactus and we don't even like the smell of it.

Funny thing is, much of the stuff in the frig has been handed down from people leaving. many of the ones from southern states go home in March. We are the last on our street.Soooooo--what we can't use we have to throw!!

I am sorry that I didn't get back to "The Journey--Child of Divorce"--I left off when I was still in California. Maybe this summer I can continue.

Wow, I almost got caught this am. Jerry had to take the truck in to have a back up beeper put on, so when the mandatory 8 am arrived I turned over and slept til after 9. Luckily I was up and looked awake when he got back. He tells people he has to throw me out of bed in the am " and on the 2nd bounce she is awake!" He really is not THAT mean---but he does tell me if I want to sleep longer I should come to bed earlier. And that is true----but I am a night person. No wonder I worked 11-7 shift my last 15 years of work!

Today I have promised myself I would get the spare bedroom/computer room back in order. Probably would take less than an hour if I got myself in gear---but I also procrastinate too!

The sun is coming up in Africa! It is beautiful. It is pitch black here. I love watching "Africam.com". I hope i can szee some animals before I have to go to bed. One night I saw 11 elephants and last night saw a leopard and 3 hyenas/ Early this am there were about 100 impalas. It is fun to see the young ones run and play. Right now there is a fat black snake inching his way along the ground.

I have been thinking of how unkind people can be to folks they don't even know. And I wonder why. Seems some get a kick or thrill out of leaving nasty comments. My dad had a saying ,"if you can't say somthing nice, then don't say anything". Seems that is a pretty good idea.

I am still having a problem wsith my left hand, putting in extra letters etc. i have to keep back spacing to erase them. Then doing a one finger typing that is very taxing. Speaking of taxes---i got mine done--used TurboTax again--was interesting.

The weather was very hot today---over 100 on our deck. it was good to come in to see American Idol and have a big cold salad and ice tea for supper. We have so much salad dressing in the frig i am going to have a lot more salads before we go home. Was even too hot to ride the golf cart and count jack rabbits--counted 21 yesterday. People are leaving the park in record number---they always do the 1st day of a month--except Feb. ,then the park is full to the limit. There have been so many huge, very expensive motorhomes in here this year. Some cost close to a million dollars. We are happy with out little house--fine for the two of us and easy to take care of.

Guexss i will call it a night, look at africa a while longdrf and hitg tghe bed--lots gto co tgomorrosw an my fingds are gdtting sworfn ougt.

I left that last sentence as it came outg--awful isn't it?? hope i get better soon.

The company is gone. Silence reigns. I have washed 8 sheets and about a million towels, the frig has a few empty spots, we have slept about 8 hours without going "somewhere". I wish they were all back! Hopefully next year they will come again. They went ocean fishing, to the beach, to Mexico, to shopping malls and on and on--plus all the things to do right here in the resort. They were really tired out---some vacation, Haha!!

Next job is getting ready to go back north ourselves. Jerry wants to be home early this year---by May 1st--so we can get the camping trailer hooked up and take in some of the state parks. he also wants us to find a one story house and move---I don't---but that doesn't count! I know it would be better for me---but I love my house! We will se what he finds for us! Of course he has his wants too---like a big garage and work shop etc. We shall see!!
