MIKE JONES: Keeping Up With The Jones

Move over T.I. Another platinum-selling rapper from the dirty south is entering the motion picture realm.
Mike Jones (of "Back Then" fame) is helming the production of his debut film, titled 'American Dream.' According to his spokeswoman, the project will chronicle Jones' real life rise to fame as an aspiring rapper from the streets who finds his path in life through music.
What in the world did Fantasia start?

Production literally started this week in Jones' hometown of Houston, and has under-ground filmmaker Derrick Dixon on board as director. 'Trois' producer Gregory Anderson and 'Rap City' producer Keith Paschall have been listed as producers, along with Jones' record company Asylum Records/Warner Bros. Records
While no casting info has been released, The BV Newswire has learned that Clifton Powell ('The Gospel') and Tamala Jones ('Nora's Hair Salon') are on board to star in the flick.
Jones is concurrently in the studio putting the finishing touches on his sophomore CD, titled 'The American Dream.'
Get it? Synergy.

Jones recently opened a night club in Houston called Club Iceage.
