Wondering what happened to The BV Newswire last week?
Ummmmmmmm, so was I.
Imagine my dismay when I returned from a long overdue short break, and was basically informed that I was temporarily out of commission.
It was sort of like what happened to The Almighty O when she was on vacation last year and decided to partake in one of her favorite past-times (luxe shopping) only to be told that she will not be allowed to.
(That infamous Hermes racial controversy.)
Talk about an "N-word Wake-Up Call," to quote legendary funnyman Paul Mooney.
Well, I won't go into any specific details (to be honest, it all sounded like hogwash to me). But it just goes to show what I have always thought: No matter how good we may think something can be -- or how well it can actually work in doing the task at hand -- there will always be a plug pulled, a wire tripped or just plain old salt being thrown into the game.
Go figure.
I hope you didn't count me out, just yet.
Like Teddy Pendergrass shouted on "Love T.K.O.": "I've taken the bumps and the bruises of all the things of a two-time loser." But then like Jennifer Holliday hollered on "And I Am Telling You, I'm Not Going": "Tear down the mountains, Yell, scream and shout. You can say what you want, I'm not walkin' out."
