WANDA SYKES: She Works Hard For The Money

By Karu F. Daniels, AOL Black Voices

Emmy Award winning funnywoman Wanda Sykes will star in her very first solo special for HBO on Oct. 14 at 10:00 p.m. ET.  Titled 'Wanda Sykes: Sick & Tired,' the one-hour special was taped before a live audience at the Moore Theatre in Seattle and features the outspoken comic performing material featured on her recent national tour.  Topics touched upon, in a way only Miss Sykes can do, were politics, gay marriage, karma, healthcare, racial profiling, the pressure of being a woman, and the perks of getting older.

I simply love her.  She is just what the doctor orders when you're feeling down and dumpy...She makes me laugh so hard I get tears in my eyes.  That's the kind of humor we need on a regular basis. I still watch her syndicated show and wonder why it's not on any networks line-up, but That's So Raven is.  Go figure!
